Königshof Swiss Quality Hotel

As visitors from the United States on our first trip to Cologne, we were delighted to have the Koenigshof as a base for our journey. From the warm greeting to the time of checking out, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fine hotel. We highly recommend it.

The hotel is perfectly situated as to the opera visitors and for shopping. in our room there was an disagreable odour in the toilet.

+Everything, from the hotel staff to the breakfast. -Needs to be more parking availabilty

+The Hotel's location is great, nice, but small bar area, and good selection at breakfast. The staff were very helpful and spoke good english, rooms smallish but comfortable. -Needs larger breakfast room.

The experience of this hotel left us with a bitter note when we look back to my Germany trip this time and that is primarily because of the front desk Gentleman called Mr. Hollarbach . I spent 2 nights in that hotel with my wife and son and was shocked by the rude and rough attitude that he showed to us when we reported the door key loss issue which we experienced. The incident in brief is like this. On our second day of stay we lost the room key in the hotel itself. We reported the problem to Hollarbach and his response and attitude was shocking and the way he talked to us , he gave us a feeling as if he was going to pay for the key loss issue. He also told that we need to pay 50 Euros if the key is not found before we leave the next day morning. We told him that there could have been only 2 things ..1) when we went inside the room in the morning the key was probably hanging outside and the house keeping people might have taken it … 2) The key was inside the room and when the room cleaning person came he/she could have taken it. He refused to believe what we said and was very non cooperative Next day morning when I went down with my luggage and asked him to add the 50 Euros to my room bill , he told me that the house keeping person who was there in the morning shift the previous day has come back and wants to check the room again. At that moment I was convinced that they have the key and going to play a little drama now and it really happened. She came back with the key . I did not even bother to ask them where they found it and left immediately. So I did not have to pay but after coming from Switzerland where we had an wonderful hospitality for a week , the rough and rude attitude from this hotel in Cologne left us with a very bitter experience. However the location of the Hotel great, right next to the Dom but the area is very noisy and one can feel it from the room till very late night.

+Very central, but quiet location with no external noise evident. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Safety deposit boxes available.

+The hotel locaiton was great although not quite in the city but it is convenient when you arrive by train and want to leave all luggages at hotel. -It is a bit not comfortable that the room did not have the chain and rely solely on door lock.

Excellent Location. Very friendly staff. Small but comfortable bar/lounge area. Hot and cold buffet breakfast was of a particularly high standard. Would definately stop her again.

+The location was fantastic, as was the service and we were given a great welcome by all. Great city especially at Karneval!! Perfect place for a base to look about in the the thick of the action

A comfortable hotel very close to the Cathedral ,shopping and tourist attractions.
