The three-star Hotel Hayk Altstadt, housed in a landmark building in the pedestrian area of the Old Town, offers you a wonderful view of the river Rhine. Enjoy the peaceful location on the banks of the Rhine and near the sights of Cologne. The hotel provides a total of 12 guest rooms appointed with a shower, WC, cable TV and a telephone. The 3 rooms with a view of the Rhine feature separate beds, while those without a view of the river come with double beds. The quadruple rooms are 2-room apartments with shower or bathtub, toilet, TV, fridge, water kettle and lift. Apartments with kitchen (water kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven, stove, fridge etc.) are provided on request and depending on availability. The apartments are situated in the apartment house, approximately 100 m from the main building. In summer, we invite you to take your breakfast on the terrace and admire the view of the river Rhine. Several museums, the Cologne Cathedral, the railway station, the Musical Dome and the well-known Chocolate Museum, as well as numerous restaurants and bars can be reached within a few walking minutes. The exhibition grounds and the Kölnarena are on the other side of the Rhine and can be comfortably reached by train (2 stations), by taxi or on foot (after 20 minutes). The biggest shopping miles in Cologne are only 3 walking minutes away from the hotel. We are looking forward to welcoming you at our hotel! Lovely hotel, really made our time in Cologne wonderful. Only problem was the beds which were very creaky and the thin duvet. Would definately stay there again though

A really nice mini-hotel with loads of personality and cool staff. Also can't beat the location right on the waterfront. Highly recommended

The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Better directions to the hostel upon arrival in Cologne would have been appreciated.

+It was very close to city attracions. -There was no phone in the room, no coffee in the room, and the windows were terrible, the street noise was so bad we had trouble sleeping.

+The hotel location was excellent; right near the Rhine, the Dom, other museums and plenty of pubs and grub. My friends and I stayed there during Rose Monday, which is Cologne's last day of Karneval, and it was right in the middle of the madness! It was great! Also, our apartment had plenty of room and sleep space. It could've easily of accomodated 2-3 more people with the use of cots. -We arrived 30 minutes prior to the check-in time, however, the room was still not vacated by the previous guest who claimed they didn't know they had to leave. This was not the fault of the hotel, but most hotels call the room at check-out to verify the room has been vacated. Now that I think about it, I don't think the room even had a phone!

-Although the bedroom appeared clean, the bedding smelt unclean and hence the hotel does not warrant 3 star status.

-We were accomodated in a dependance of this hotel: no river view, no historical palace... They want to be paid cash, we had to discuss to pay with credit card.
