Hotel An Der Philharmonie

Grosse Neugasse 36-38 - 50667 Cologne

A warm welcome to the Hotel An der Philharmonie! This thoroughly renovated family-run hotel is located right in the heart of Cologne next to the cathedral and the main train station. The reception area has been extended to 100 m² and appointed in modern style with a back office, internet station and seating areas. At the same time new suites were also prepared, so that the hotel now offers 8 cutting edge suites with modem connections. Despite the great expense of restructuring, the prices remain as reasonable as always. Set in the city's Old Town, the hotel is next to the Cologne Philharmonics (Philharmonie), and in direct vicinity of the River Rhine, the main shopping street and Cologne's Exhibition Centre. Plenty of parking is available to guests thanks to the underground car park right by the hotel.

We arrived by train, the hotel was easy to find and we were able to enjoy walking aound all the Christmas Markets without the need for public transport.

The booking process worked well despite our booking the night before arriving. The hotel is efficiently run and serves an excellent buffet breakfast. The city centre location is very convenient. The bar next door is a bit noisy at the weekend if you are bothered by this (we weren't). The lift is small and the non smoking floors are 3 and 4 so be aware of this if you are in a large group and need to use the lift.

The front desk staff was very friendly, and the hotel quite well-located for someone traveling by rail. My room was quite small, but given the cost of the room, a very good value.
