Euro Garden Mark Hotel

A gem of a place I stayed at this 4 star hotel with my mother while we visited the 6 Christmas markets of Cologne. We had a great time! It was dark, wet & late when we arrived but there was no queries regarding our reservation and when we got to our room on the 3rd floor (via the lift) we were delighted with it. The beds were very comfortable, the room was spotless & the bathroom more than adequate. The mini bar had fruit juice & water free of charge, there was a safe and enough wardrobe space for 2 people for 4 nights. There was even a chocolate on the pillow. As mentioned by others the breakfast is excellent! With fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, fish, breads, pastries, eggs, bacon & sausages available along with fresh fruit juice, tea and coffee. On this site I read that we may be disturbed by noise from the major road works at the station but we did not experience any noise disturbance at all, even with the window open. This said however the road works do mean that walking to the hotel is not as simple as it could be but don't let this put you off; just follow the signs.

GOOD LOCATION I GOT THE SINGLE ROOM IN THE LAST FLOOR-SO THE ROOM WAS VERY VERY HOT FROM THE SUN. I CAME BACK TO MY ROOM ONLY IN THE EVENING. CAN'T STAY THERE DURING THE DAY

Disappointing due to one aspect The hotel was OK in terms of the overall service but on th first morning there was no hot water for a shower which is not good when the weather was hot. I naturally spoke with the hotel staff who advised that when everyone uses the hot water at the same time in the morning this can happen. This was not acceptable to me and then later establishedthat it was in fact a fault with the hot water to my room

Great value and location Hotel positioned on teh back side of the train station but 5 mins walk gets you to the Cathedral steps. Staff very helpful and provided good and useful infomation with minimal prompting, rooms compact but for city centre location enough space, well kept and comfortable. Breakfast time was busy but still plenty of choice. Functional hotel - you get what you pay for and this is a great value hotel.

Good hotel The hotel was extremely clean and service was great. A stones throw from the railway station so no need for a taxi if traveling by rail. Right down town. 1 minute away from the beautiful cathedral and down town. Great breakfast, rooms are small but very clean and nice.

I was very impressed by the hotel and the friendly service from the staff - I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it highly. The only problem was not of the hotel's making but related to the construction works at the main station. There are two routes from the station to the hotel, and it is difficult to find the way through the building works, especially when first arriving. However, this was not a big problem.

Excellent Hotel Stayed here with my mum whilst visiting the Christmas markets. Would highly recommend it. Excellent location - 1 minute walk from main railway station. Exceptionally clean - room and bathroom bright, modern, comfortable and absolutley spotless. Great breakfast. Stay here - you won't be dispointed.

Very good value for money. The railway station does very good food. I would recommend the Asia Gourmet, we found this excellent and prices very reasonable.

+It was very close to the train station although there is a lot of construction going on at the station - not the fault of the hotel. Staff very friendly and spoke very good english when needed. The breakfast each morning was a feast.
