Callas Hotel Am Dom

Great Location, Poor Hotel The hotel was very loud at night. I stayed there durig June 2008 for six nights. Two of the nights were extremely hot and this made it impossible to sleep. There was no air conditioning. There was no fan. The matresses were old and uncomfortable. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

Very nice small hotel in the centre of Cologne. Ideal location for the station, shopping, cathedral and Rhine. The staff are excellent and helpful and we have stayed there four times in December and will be going back again in 2008 hopefully. Breakfast is very good. It can be noisy at the front of the hotel as it overlooks the shopping street, but when the windows are closed you cannot hear much. The room was clean and comfortable - basic but if you are staying just a few days it is ideal. Will return.

+The location is wonderful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. -The breakfast wasn't fantastic, but there are lots of great restaurants nearby, including Starbucks for morning coffee.

The typical 1-star hotel, except for the price and breakfest. The rooms (4th floor) needs repairing: very old furniture, a floor carpet in awful condition, unclean w.c. pan. It seemd nobody was awaiting us inspite of the successful reservation per venere.com. The staff obviously was confused by our arriving (I got the final receipt with a wrong surname).

Nice location, street noise unbearable I liked the hotel and the staff, but we had a room that faced the street and it was so loud. We didn’t get any sleep. People were partying until 4 AM. Even with the windows shut, it felt like they were in our room. I heard from other guests that if you face the back it was quieter. Nice loaction, but the noise level is out of control.

+It is very close to the Train Station and the City Center which is the biggest advantage.

Our room was next to the breakfast's space, so the noise started at about 6.30. One of the ladies of the personnel was not really competent. During the breakfast some important things like glasses, hot water and bread were missing. The hotel is very good located, but old. Some repairs have been done, but for the price I think that there should be more improvements (like a newer bathroom for example).

+The location of this hotel was great, very close to the Dom. Hotel was clean, the staff friendly. -No window at all, did have a skylight though. Room was very small.
