Best Western Hotel Koeln

Slept like logs!! Great value hotel. Handy for Cologne/Bonn Airport (22 Euros by cab). Really comfortable beds and had our best two nights' sleep in a hotel for some time. No problems with our late arrival (at midnight) and the bar stayed open until 1am for a very welcome Koelsch! Good breakfast selection. 10 minutes walk to the U-Bahn at Kalk Kapelle (warning: part of the walk takes you under dark railway arches) which is 3 stops to the Messe and 6 stops from Heumarkt in the Altstadt. Recommended, great value for a weekend break.

A great Base Perhaps it's just German efficiency, but this place was quality. The staff were so helpful with directions, information on the best places to go, and even giving us complimetary things like tooth brush (forgot it). OK so the place is not city centre, but it's a ten minute walk to the tram stop and then 15 scenic mins in. Dead sure we got loads for our money (we were on an Expedia 3rd off deal) The hotel's well fitted, in an accessible location.

A good no frills place to stay A tip for breakfast go to a Backwerk self service cafe. Very simply food with coffee and a place to sit and also very cheap start to the day if your on a budget.

Next to a Freight Train Depot The sound from the train was so loud that it blotted out the tv even! How someone thought it a good idea to build a hotel there is a mystery...

If not next to train track, very good price performance ratio. My room was next to train track and somewhat noisy. My colleagues who were more fortunate had their rooms on the other side of the hotel and were very happy with their room.

+Good breakfast and helpful staff -No mini bar, no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. No face flannel and no bars of soap in the bathroom. TV and Pay TV very low quality.

+Clean Hotel, close to major intersections, service provided by the night manager was excellent. At first, the first reception was that we can't have an extra bed for our child (she asked us to requested ahead of time in the future stay????), then we spoked to the night manager (he was a latin manager) and he was very helpful in accomodating our needs. Thanks!!!

+breakfast was good, not far for public transport, easy to find, no issues with noise but upgraded to comfort room on arrival which may place you on different side of hotel.
