The hotel is highly priviledged by the location. The facilities are the simplest, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a very good time there, with excellent bars, restaurants, stores, historical places all on a walking distance. Go to Brasserie Lipp, Cafe de Flore, all great places. The breakfast is better taken at a Paul's Cafeteria nearby but, when there, try to go to the eating room in the back where the attendants are friendlier and in greater number. The old lady in the first hall may let you wait forever to be serviced.

Paris Hotels are pricey, but don't cheap out and stay here. It is close to the Louvre and Notre Dame, but our room was tiny. Our bathroom was congested by the encroachment of the spiral stair case which was located right outside our room. There was no actual shower, just a shower head connected to the faucet in the bathtub with no shower curtain. Hot water was extremely limited. One bonus was that the staff spoke English. However, don't leave any loose change laying around or the cleaning staff may think its a tip. True story: My wife left out some US Coined Currency (quarters, nickels, dimes, penny) along with buttons and trash, and the cleaning person scooped it up like it was a tip. WTF? At least the exchange rate makes that a pretty lousy tip. The room was habitable, but I would look for nicer accommodations to truly enjoy the a city as beautiful as Paris.

Excellent location, friendly staff, beautiful room with large double french windows (sound proof), Right by vegetable market, chees shop, bakeries, butcheris and dozens of cafes and cool bars, also right by small super market (Champion), and close to two Metro lines (Mabillon and Saint Germain des Pres). Highly recommendable!

The staff was especially accommodating and the location could ot have been better if you like to stay in the St Germain de Pres area. I expected the rooms to be small, but they were smaller than I thought they would be. I was a single leisure traveller and would reserve a double room next time - all except for one of the single rooms were attic rooms and felt even smaller because of the vaulted ceilings. I would definately stay here again...

WE HAD A VERY GOOD STAY, ROOM WAS A LITTLE SMALL BUT THIS IS WHAT WE EXPECTED REALLY FOR PARIS BUT DIDN'T BOTHER US TO MUCH. THE RESTURANT BELOW WAS REALLY GOOD VALUE AND THEY MADE U FEEL REALLY WELCOME. THE AREA WAS AMAZING THERE WAS EVERYTHING THERE YOU WANTED FROM A BAR TO A SUPERMARKET. THE NIGHT LIFE ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY WAS AMAZING YOU JUST HAVE TO BE THERE. A SHORT WALK TO THE RIVER AND EVEN SHORTER TO THE RESTURANT BELOW. WE WOULD GO BACK FOR SURE. THE METRO AND TRAIN ARE VERY CLOSE AND VERY VERY EASY TO USE. DID NOT HAVE BREAKFAST IN HOTEL DUE TO PRICE BUT MACDONALD BRUNCH WAS VERY GOOD VALUE.

A colleague and I have stayed in this hotel both for business and pleasure on 2 separate trips. The staff was particularly helpful when we were there for business, and the location was perfect for us. The rooms are spare and small, but who spends time in the room anyway. The only negative was not having internet service in the room.

This hotel is a find. It should not change a thing, but should remain the same forever.

Great location and very helpful staff - perfect for just a clean room and bath in Paris. I didn't try the breakfast - too many other enticing options - and the telephone in the room was a rotary phone, which made it difficult to call overseas (back to the States), so this probably wouldn't be suitable for a wired traveler. But a great neighborhood from which to explore Paris, and very nice staff, at a very reasonable price.
