Great budget base in Paris Buy a Rough Guide to Paris and make the most of the Metro - EUR1.60 each single trip. All you need to know is the line number and it's ultimate destination, and you get get anywhere you need to.

Our room was very dark. Rooms overlooking street were much brighter. Good bathroom. Very good location in heart of Paris.

This hotel is such a great location beside a metro station a just around the corner of the Louvre. We did have a few problems with reception regarding keys but was not a major issue. Would recommend this hotel on its location alone.

Good value for money and central to city attractions If sightseeing, plan your days carefully. Lots to see and very spread out. Bus tour first useful. Eiffel Tower not too busy at night and spectacular. Book a return shuttle mini-bus from airport - much cheaper than taxi.

Perfect location, the relation between price (99 EUR for the double room) and quality was very good. Staff was friendly in general, but not too much, once they found out, we didn't want to take breakfast in the hotel, which is as overpriced as in every hotel in Paris. I also was not too pleased in having to leave the keycard(!) at the desk, every time, we left the hotel. Note that if you depart late in the day, thex don't have an extra room for your luggage, you just leave it on the fire escape staircase. Apart from this, quite a nice stay, and compared with previous experiences in other (higher rated) hotels definitely to recommend.

Great location, good value We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. First, its location is great - near the Louvre, Ile de la Cite (where Notre Dame is) and the Seine, two metro stations and one railroad station. We could walk everywhere and when we got tired, we hopped on the metro and were back within minutes. You can save a lot of money by taking the train from the airport - the station is about 2 blocks from the hotel. The staff was very helpful and corrected slight problems right away. The room was small by American standards, but adequate - the bathroom had a spa tub that was wonderful after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast was great - croissants, bread, eggs (hard or soft boiled), cereal, yogurt, ham, cheese, fruit cocktail and grapefruit, coffee, tea, etc. The TV was fine, but there were only 2 English channels- BBC and CNBC - but we didn’t go there to watch TV. The street noise was loud with the window open, but when shut at night it was pretty quiet. We were on the 4th floor. The elevator is tiny, but worked well. There were lots of restaurants nearby. I would stay there again. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks From the airport take the RER (train) to Les Halles station (8.2 Euros) and take a taxi to the hotel when you get there - be sure to tell the driver Tonic Hotel, since there is another Hotel du Louvre. When you leave, you will know better how to walk to the station and can forego the taxi.

Perfect Location Other than the Louvre (turn left out of hotel) go to Les Halles shopping (turn right out of hotel). Shops and metro down escalators on the Orleans line meant only two stops to Notre Dame (our favourite stop) or a main line for all attractions! Superb park close also!
