Republique Hotel

This hotel staff were frinedly and spoke excellent English. The location was sensational with regard to public transport, supermarkets and restaurants.

+ City position, cleanness, attention from the staff, service (for a two-star hotel) - It is quite noisy, you hear all sounds from plumbing in several rooms

+ - Friendly and helpful staff. - Nice location, near public transport: metro, buses. - Beware of tiny lift though it wasnt a problem for us.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful. They are English speaking!Given our experience in Paris that was a definite advantage.The room -a triple-was tiny but neat. Our son loved the tiny balcony we could step out to.Leader Price supermarket is a stone's throw away. The small eaterie to your right when you come out to Boulevard de Magenta has the friendliest souls behind the counter and great sandwiches and pizzas at reasonable prices. The Hotel could put up a signage on Boulevard de Magenta for better direction. Overall experience was happy.

+ Location is ok, close to tube station. Helpful staff. Room in very good condition. - The elevator is too small - the smallest I've ever been in.

+ The location was ideal since it is right on Place de la Republique.

+ The hotel was very close to the metro and the staf was accomodating. - The room did not have a clock.

We were told the hotel had non-smoking rooms and e-mailed them to request one. They said this woudl be fine. When we got there all rooms are smoking so we had to stay in a dirty smelly room for our entire stay. Staff were very unhelpful, room was shabby and cramped and very smelly ! Bed was very old, springs were gone. Shabby hotel, I know it's only 2* but there is much better out there at a similar cost. The IBIS round the corner should be better and is the same price. Breakfast was OK but the staff that serve it were very very very rude to English and American visitors, dirty looks and being spoken about in French were common.
