We have been staying at Hotel du Vieux Paris since 1970. The tiny street, Git le Coeur is at the Seine. No traffic, no noise. The hotel is small so you are treated like family. It is next to Place St. Michelle and is steeped in history from the King who kept his mistress on the street which is one block long to the beats like Alan Ginsberg who stayed there in the 60s.

This hotel's main attaction is its location. Louvre and Notre Dame are literally a 5 minute walk away, the lively Place St. Michel and the Metro and RER even closer. Inside, the building is tastefully furnished, and some thought clearly went into the decoration, which is stylish and consistent (and undoubtedly very different from the d?cor it offered when Ginsberg, Burroughs and the likes stayed here in the sixties). The exposed beams in the rooms betray the building's age and are a charming touch. However, the twin, 'Deluxe' room in which we stayed was excessively small. 2,5 x 2,5 metres at the most. There was barely room to move around the beds, and these themselves seemed primarily chosen because they fit inside the room rather than for any sleeping comfort they might offer. If you are over, say, 1m75, don't expect comfortable nights! The shower was also small, but redeemed by a spectacular showerhead featuring lateral beams. The complimentary bathrobes were another nice touch, though rather superfluous in a place where your only option is to hop straight into bed.

+ The hotel staff was superb: the best we've encountered in Europe! The location is close to metro access, Notre Dame, and only one block from the Seine River. On our next trip to Paris, we plan to stay here again.

+ quiet but central location, beautiful room, understated but efficient service - Curtains could cover the windows better, but overall excellent.

+ location is excellent, staff is friendly, and very charming hotel.. - the room seemed a little small for a "deluxe" room package even for paris standards. bathroom was incredibly small.

+ location is very good - Rooms claustrophobically small. Airconditioning cannot be regulated in the room, was warm the first day, we had to open the window. Second day was better. Bed is 1.90 m; too small for me. Pillows not nice. Find it difficult to be

+ I absolutely loved my sweet attic room with skylights looking out over Paris rooftops, but the loft sitting area might not be accessible to everyone, especially those of limited mobility. For me, location was great for walking, and I liked the historica
