Old and small hotel but at great location This small hotel is located at the Latin Quarter area at paris close to La Sorbone (Paris University) This hotel has the basics amenities meanwhile for me was kind of expensive. But that is mostly attributed to the bad exchange rate of US dollars to Euros Traveler's tip on local attractions Walking distance to Notredame, St Severin and others. Don’t ever miss Verdi’s Four Seasons concert at St Chapel!

Very small but very clean rooms I was taken aback by the size of the room for my one person, but grew accustomed to it. I was thankful I only had an overnight bag as I don’t know where I would have put a large suitcase. The cleanliness of the room made up for the size -- it was immaculate. When I brought up the fact that I couldn’t get the the TV to work it was immediately fixed. Terrific reception and service by the night staff person, who was also very kind in the early morning when I had catch a ride; snooty send-off by the woman who checked me out. She was an exception to the attention I received.

Modest hotel Modest and expensive for the price. Traveler's tip on local attractions Near Notre Dame Cathedral and Panthéon, in the Quartier Latin neighborhood.

I would stay here again. This hotel was very satisfactory and we considered it a good value. The rooms were very basic, nothing fancy, but clean. The bathroom was very modern and well done. There was ample storage for hanging clothes and storing items. The location was great--so close to Notre Dame.No breakfast was included, however. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks After a very small and expensive breakfast in an outside cafe, my husband went to markets and bakeries nearby in the morning and brought back pasteries for our family. They were delicious and we saved time as well as money! Plus, watch out when deciding on a place to buy drinks. We paid as much as 15 euros for a single beer! It pays to read the menu in advance!

Decent Hotel & Great Location The hotel is in a great location. It was slightly over priced. Great for traveling with more than 2 people as the hotel offers triple rooms. Bathroom was clean but there was no shower holder - was hand held shower. Would be a great improvement to put in a shower holder. The hotel staff were very polite and spoke English.

Nice hotel in a great location for a great price My wife and two travel guests stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The rooms were well kept and the bathroom was big for Paris standards. The pillows were terrible, but other than that, it was well worth the money and the breakfast buffet was also good. The best part though is being located in such a great part of the Latin Quarter, near a lot of restaurants, Notre Dame, Metro stations, etc. Traveler's tip on dining We loved the shwarma sandwiches & fries and had one almost every day... at 6.50 euro, it was an awesome meal.

Back again! This is the second time I’ve stayed at the Moderne with my daughter for vacation. Its a very comfortable place to call home for a visit. The staff is great and the rooms are spotless. Like most European hotels, the rooms are small. But it was comfortable and the bathroom was quite roomy. My only wish is that the room had better lighting. Its a little too dim for reading. Traveler's tip on local attractions November is a great time to visit because there are few tourists which means no waiting. This time we visited the catacombs at Defense. Very interesting -- read up to really appreciate. Bring some ’05 Bordeaux home but not in carry-on. They won’t let you take it with you. Pack in checked bags.

A clean place to sleep! This hotel was a great location for our trip. The Metro was nearby and the bus stop just up the street. The guy at the desk during the day was fantastic! He knew what bus would get us where we wanted to go, which was extremely helpful. The night clerk, not so helpful. His answer to any question was always, "Check back in the morning." The hotel was clean, although a bit dated. The first room we were assigned didn’t have a lock on the bathroom window and we were on the ground floor. They changed our room without a fuss. We didn’t eat here, we stopped at one of the cafe’s on the street. All in all, a clean place to rest your head at the end of the day.
