Hôtel Villa d'Estrées

Hôtel Villa d'Estrées

17, Rue Git Le Coeur - 75006 Paris

Built in 2002, this boutique hotel lies 400 metres from Notre Dame in the heart of the Latin Quarter's network of narrow streets. Each of the ten individually designed guestrooms stretch over half a floor, employ bold stripes and colourful fabrics, and feature cable television, minibars and separate sitting areas. Private bathrooms present tubs with black Moroccan tiles. Styles reminiscent of North Africa and the Napoleonic and Hausmann eras combine in the eclectic lobby, bar and French bistro, the latter of which serves a brasserie style menu along with a selection of wines. Concierge is available at the 24 hour front desk to advise on local attractions and sights, including the Luxembourg Garden (situated at 800 metres), Louvre art gallery (1.5 kilometres) and Eiffel Tower (3 kilometres). All can be reached from the local Metro station, Saint Michel. Paris Charles de Gaulle/Roissy Airport lies at a distance of 30 kilometres with a 40 minute driving time.

This is a very well maintained boutique hotel, 1 block from Place Saint Michele. Many restaurants nearby, also snack places for food to go. It is old but very clean with very nice bathrooms with tub/shower. They offer a nice continental breakfast for 12E. We ate there every day. We got a good rate of 275E per day (winter rate). Compared to some places we have stayed in Paris, room was nice sized. Lobby smaller than it appears on website but was very cozy for breakfast.

A little gem I have stayed in over 50 Paris hotels over the years, including many of the most famous, but this one will be my home from home on future trips. I loved the location and my concerns about the potential for noise into the small hours proved to be unnecessary.

Great Choice Wonderful hotel. we were there after our honeymoon and had a suite which is very spacious for Paris. We did not get a chance to see the regular rooms, but they were very spacious for the two of us. The staff was wonderful going out of their way to help us with directions and recommendations. WE are food people and every choice they made was either confirmed by our own experience or the zagat!! Wonderfully convenient location, as central on the left as you can be. The rooms were somewhat loud with the emptying of bottles by the garbage collectors early in the morning, but that is the price you pay for location. Showers are typically french hand held but by all means acceptable. Harder for my 6 foot plus frame but my 5’4" wife had no problems. The suite compared to a regular room at the montelambert was much more spacious. I would stay again at the villa d’estres unlessI was to rent an apartment instead. Again, a wonderful staff and location. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay do not forget to go to one of the small jazz clubs while you are there. Just ask one of the staff to help you find a good location. The Falafal Palace in the Marais had a great plate!! Better falafal than any in Los Angeles - go on your way to the Picasso.

+ The size of the rooms are excellent and exceptional for Paris hotels. The location is superb and the staff were both friendly and helpful. The breakfast is simple yet tasty. I would without doubt stay here again - it is a charming yet small parisian hot

Great Paris Vacation !! Hotel is in a great location in Latin Quarter. near St Michel metro entrance (100 yds) and Odeon (a few blocks). Convenient to Louvre, Notre Dame, St Germain, Sorbonne, all the many fine restaurants. We were there during Rugby World Cup, so local bar revelers were up late at times, but not a big deal. We were tired enough to sleep well. Strongly recommend. Great Service. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Use Arthur Frommer’s Travel Guide for Paris. The moderately priced restaurants are an excellent meal at a very reasonable price, despite Euro @ 0.61 to the dollar.

+ Room was quite large for a Paris hotel, staff was friendly, location was very convenient, we appreciated the possibility of having our breakfast in the room as a couple with a small child - The narrow street outside could be surprisingly loud

We will come back! This was a fabulous hotel and location, friendly helpful english speaking staff. King bed a huge plus , comfy too, good size bathroom and closet, the shower curtain hangs above the tub and gets the floor wet, we got creative with some needle and thread and fixed the problem, they just need a longer shower curtain, this is my only complaint, breakfast in the room was so convenient and pleasant, 2 large windows open to the small street below, great reastaurants all around and fun shopping. Get your metro passes at the Odeon metro station, they aren't available at the St Michel station. Thursday nite starts the weekend so be prepared for 4 nights of late night fun and lively youthful people walking the streets. Bring earplugs no matter where you choose to stay. Make sure you get to Cafe Fleur for the special hot chocolate, have lunch in the Eiffel Tower (Jules Verne) and dinner in the Montparnasse Tower (Le Ciel de Paris) reservations are a must! make them before you leave town. The Metro trains all reach their final destinations by 1:15am. Visit Giverny by train and rent bikes to make the journey, make sure you ride on the bike path above the busy 2 lane Hwy. Paris is full of english speaking friendly people, greet them and ask if they speak english in French and you'll go far!
