great hotel for the price THe room and bathroom was newly decorated, the breakfast was a good french breakfast, location was close to two stops on the metro. I would not recomend the hotel for a family with young kids, not because we had any problems, but because of the sex stores within the immediated area. A good iliatian restruant across the street, and many more done toward the st.george metro stop. Traveler's tip on shopping good bargin shopping at Tati, two metro stops down from pigalle.

Very friendly and very comfortable This was my first trip to Paris. Like the experience of most of the other reviewers, the staff was really nice to me, and the owner really did go out of his way to make my stay really great. The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms were bright and cleaned daily. The is a soda machine on site. There’s no A/C, so that should be a consideration if you are going in the summertime (I went in late Sept, and I was fine). Very convenient to the Pigalle metro stop which is on two lines (one of which goes to the Arc de Triumphe and the Champs-Elysees directly). The metro stop is in a red light district, but the area is well lit and not unsafe. There were many locals there with their children. (just a couple of peep show theaters between the hotel and the subway stop). Pigalle has a McDonald’s near the stop as well as a boulangerie-patisserie for a pain au chocolat (for cheap eats) The section of Rue Victor Masse where the hotel is located just had mostly guitar stores and a convenience store. There is a Ben’s Pizza nearby on the street, but I got a feeling that Americans or non-French were not particularly welcome there. The service that I got as well as another American couple was clearly less friendly than other tables. We were essentially ignored (and I ordered in my limited French). At all of the other restaurants during my stay, I was treated warmly despite my limited French. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay The metro is efficient and safe, get the Paris visite Pass. If you can wait, hold off on ordering Coca-Cola during your meal, it is brtually expensive! (I paid 8 euro ($12) for a 20oz glass at a cafe. Order "un carafe d’eau" (a carafe of tap water) and then go to a supermarche to get your cold soda afterwards. There’s a good supermarket right at the Ecole Militaire metro stop...stock up on goodies at the supermarches. The Bateaux-Mouches is worth it!

Staff make all the difference Get the 5-day Paris Visite metropass. It is very easy to get everywhere in Paris with the subway, and this pass was good value for the money. It is also valid for all other public transport.

Tiny dirty noisy place It was quite noisy - there was construction daytime and very loud music at a restaurant night time. Ceiling in the room have never been cleaned and it is very, very, very dirty. Rooms are tiny. Hot water is not always available and is not always hot. TV sets are installed but signal is not there. Also not a safe street. In a week I witnessed one fight and one cry for police.

Nice Hotel , great location Nice little hotel located in a great area , close to Pigalle and St.Georges metro stations , close to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. Breakfast is ok , although basic(bread , croissant , jelly, butter , orange juice and tea/coffee) , but you may ask for supplements(e.g. another croissant , juice...) If possible ask for a room on an upper floor , the street is a bit noisy by night. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay For shopping : there are several supermarkets(ed , champion) near Pigalle (from Pigalle to Anvers metro station - 5 minutes walking), reasonable prices and a great variety of products. For travelling to/from CDG airport : use CDG shuttles , they provide door to door transport , do not use train services for airport transportation , it’s almost the same price, crowded and not very comfortable.

Awful Hotel I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are very unfriendly and down-right rude. The hotel has a smell about it which I never quite identified. It also could do with an update on the decoration front - new carpets etc. There are no drawers in the room and very little hanging space. The plug sockets didnt always work and the shower is rubbish.

Clean comfortable economy hotel This was a great and affordable place to stay for someone looking to do siteseeing in Paris. It is VERY convenient to Montemartre and Sacre Coeur and also very close to Pigalle Metro station for other Paris siteseeing. The front desk staff were VERY helpful and, among other things, arranged a shuttle to the airport for us that saved us money and inconvenience. I will stay here again. Traveler's tip on local attractions To get to Sacre Coeur and Montemartre, go to Pigalle square and take the bus that loops up the hill to both places. VERY convenient. The Paris Visite card good for unlimited bus and Metro is VERY worth the price. We had a three day card and used it extensively
