Though small, this hotel provides an adequte overnight stay possibility for a good price. The linens and the bathroom are clean, I just had a little reservation about the floor and the staris, if they were really clean or not. Staff very helpful. The surroundings are also wonderful, metro station only 2 minutes away, interesting shops, and you can walk to many places. However I would be careful to shop at the small, private grocery store a few steps away from the hotel, they tried to overcharge me (12Euro for a bottle of Volvic, orange juice, and a small can of potato chips) seeing that I am a foreigner.

We were generally happy with the hotel. Easy to find; a short walk from the metro; located in a good commercial surroundings; Restaurants/cafes were round the corner. A decent 2-star hotel in the 1st district(heart of the city) at the rate we got was hard to find(on the internet), so we are happy with it. An electric heater was provided in the room. Shower with WC was good, the heated water was a welcome. The room was small (as expected), but we have no complains(maybe 'cos we asians are smaller built). Our only complaint was that the room had a mild stench of smoke(previous occupants probably smoked in the room). We were charged extra for breakfast, but was not told that it was optional. But then again, it was convenient to have breakfast in the hotel before we started off on our sight-seeing. We cant rate the service becuase we werent really demanding, but, upon request they obliged my wife with an extra pillow.

After staying many times on the Left Bank and a few on Boulevard Hausmann, we chose Hotel Royal Opéra this time and loved it. We plan to make it our Paris base for future visits.

Good location, near Metro Madeleine. Little room and little bathroom but that's usual in France, and anyway in this case, it was comfortable. Good breakfast but not included in the price of the room.

We stayed for 4 days in September, and it was really terrific. Super friendly staff, spoke excellent English. Tiny room, but great condition, clean and new looking bathroom. Comfortable beds. And the location is perfect. Close to Madeleine metro station, and super close to the Roisseybus bus from the Charles de Gaulle Airport to Paris center. Without question we'll stay here in the future.

A very quiet hotel close to the shops and all main tourist sights. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. The room was small (normal for Paris) but clean and the bed was spacious. The bathroom was clean and there was a bathtub! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Paris particularly on a strict budget.

This hotel is in an excellent position - very convenient to metro, in a safe district, with shops nearby.
