Hotel Royal Monceau
37 Avenue Hoche - 75008 Paris
Opened in 1928, the Royal Monceau is a palatial hotel set in a prestigious shopping and business district, 400 metres from the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, and Parc Monceau. The 203 guestrooms feature ornate period furnishings and separate entrance halls, and offer views over the hotel garden or the Avenue Hoche. All are equipped with satellite television, video game consoles, minibars and complimentary newspapers. Marble bathrooms include magnifying mirrors, televisions, and bathrobes. Le Jardin restaurant, housed in a glass pavilion in the centre of the hotel garden, offers continental buffet breakfasts and a Provençal inspired menu for lunch and dinner. During warmer months the pavilion opens for al fresco dining on the terrace. Le Carpaccio is characterised by colourful Venetian decor and serves Italian dishes for lunch and dinner. Royal's Bar serves cocktails and light meals. Surrounding a mirrored, oval shaped swimming pool and opening onto a lush courtyard garden, Les Thermes fitness centre and day spa resembles a sumptuous Roman bath. It offers exercise classes, fitness rooms, massages and body treatments, mineral baths and a beauty salon. Healthy light meals are served for breakfast and lunch in the adjacent restaurant overlooking the pool and garden. Guests visiting on business can make use of secretarial services, fax machines, Internet access and large conference rooms decorated with Venetian inspired murals. The Royal Monceau is located within three kilometres of many of Paris's sightseeing destinations, such as the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. One of the best views of Paris is available from atop the Arc de Triomphe, two blocks from the hotel. Paris Orly International Airport is 25 kilometres from the hotel, and can be reached by car in approximately 20 minutes.

Beautifull hotel. Foyer to die for, could have sat there all day. Fantastic hotel 2 mins from the Arc de Triomphe. Lots of bars and restaurants locally which is good as you wont be able to afford to eat or drink in this hotel unless you have the salary of David Beckham.

Great location The decor is beautiful and elegant. The staff is friendly and did their best to meet all our needs. We ordered room service for both breakfast and dinner and we enjoyed the food; it was pricey though. Location is ideal for a short walk to the Arc and Champ Elysee; and a little longer walk to the Eiffel Tower. Our stay was short so we didn’t get a chance to use the pool or the spa. Would recommend it. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Book your tours on your own to avoid the high cost of the concierge fees; walk whenever you can or take the train.

They treated all of us with daily greetings by name and always asked if they could help us that day.

I have stayed at many hotels in Paris over the years. I counsel anyone planning a trip to Paris, subtract a star from whatever the hotel is rated to get a true idea of what you will expect. Often rooms are over priced and very small in most 3.5 to 4 star hotels. What the French brand a 3-4 star is more likely a 2-3 star.

Never again Besides some interesting antique pieces at reception hall and a good breakfast, the hotel is a disgrace. By any means or measures, it cannot exceed 3 stars. The room was smelly, dirty and the bathroom was worse. Drainage not working and towels torn. Had to ask for slippers and hair dryer. Phone had to be fixed.

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Request were addressed quickly and efficiently. The dollar isnt worth much compared to the Euro so be prepared for a little sticker shock...the hotel is a throw back to the good old days when service and comfort meant something. The bathroom was always clean and the beds wow loved it soft spottless bedding changed daily including the comforter...At night covers turned down and chocolates on the pillow..oh yeah they stock Hermes products and it wasnt an issue when I socked them away.. Infact the staff recognized that I was hoarding the goodies Sooo they left a few extras.I also took advantage of a few of the hotels treats.A pool,a spa with a steam room, sauna exercise/arobic room..dont tell the boss but a massage will get you through the busy day. Exercise will be in order if you partake of the bountiful breakfast buffet and a walk at least necessary....The hotel is a block away from the Arc de Triumph, the subway resaturants and the wonders of the city.
