Hotel Pont Royal
5-7, rue de Montalembert - 75007 Paris
Styled as a literary hotel, the Hotel Pont Royal is on the left bank of the Seine in the St. Germain des Pres area. The hotel has been frequented by many authors, including Jean Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, Truman Capote and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Guestrooms have mahogany furniture and walls and fabrics in russet, coral or plum. Amenities include high speed Internet connections, satellite television, newspapers and bathrobes. L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon is the hotel's main restaurant. Based around an open kitchen, which allows guests to watch their meals being prepared, specialties include Ravioli de Langoustines Truffe. A superior wine cellar complements the menu and there is a good range of wines served by the glass. A covered terrace overlooks the Rue de Montalembert. The Le Signature Bar is a dark wood paneled area, with rugs on the floor and deep armchairs, where guests can relax and read. For the health conscious there is a fitness center, and if a little pampering is required, an in room massage service is available. The Musee d'Orsay, which houses an impressive collection of Impressionist art, is next door to the hotel. Just over the Seine lie the Louvre, Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe, all less then two kilometers away. Paris Orly airport is 15 kilometers and 35 minutes from the hotel.

My family and I have stayed at Hotel Pont Royal many times, at least 5 times, over the years. We've enjoyed it every time. Paris is a very expensive place to stay so finding a good hotel, clean with good service and amenities that won't break your budget is tough. Hotel Pont Royal does it. It is very nice, the personnel are very accomodating. Rooms are clean and warm during the winter, and we keep on going back. Very convenient to adventure from, near the Metro walking distance to all major sights and museums. Excellent restaurant and room service.

Nice spot on the Left bank This hotel, is cozy, clean and its location is hard to beat. In addition, Atelier de Joel Robuchon is attached to it, a 3-star Michelin restaurant. Service is relatively professional and there was almost nothing to complain about. Standard rooms are small by any measure but what can one expect in Europe. They are nice though. The rooms on the top floor, have great small terraces, and the floor below, the attic floor have rather appealing little outdoor balconies off the attic windows. Stay here, you wont regret it, but it is not inexpensive.

Wonderful location The hotel is perfectly located. The service is excellent. The room was modest, but with floor-to- ceiling windows looking out onto a lovely square. We would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Location I don’t think there could be a better location in all of Paris. Street noise was a little loud though. Bring ear plugs.
