Hotel Lyon Bastille

Not a bad place to stay. Take a 10 min walk to Bastille where you'll find nice restaurants and bars.

Under Construction This hotel is currently under construction and each morning I was jarred awake by hammering and drilling. Repeated calls to the front desk proved fruitless. I would recommend avoiding this hotel if you want to sleep past 8am.

Good location but hotel a bit dodgy I can't remember the name of the cafe / bar, but we sat outside at one on the same street as the hotel and ended up paying 20 pounds for 2 small beers and 1 large!!!!!! If you head to Bastille, rue du lappe there are loads of bars with happy hour.

Good location Only a short 5-min. walk from the Gare de Lyon, with several shops and places to eat in the neighborhood. There's also an Air France bus between Gare de Lyon and the airport. Decent room, with an en-suite bathroom. The hotel has an elevator (quite small, but helpful for luggage, when staying on the 4th floor!). Helpful, friendly hotel staff (who also speak English). They were doing some painting when I was there (June 13-14 '08), so it looks like recarpeting is next.

+ Price and convenience. - Rather hard mattress and a smoky smell in the room.
