Love the area, the hotel was sweet, neat, clean and all the personnel was helpful to the max, near all major transportation and buses, and great places to eat with-in walking distance, and very quiet at night and very damn romantic, room was a little small to american standards, but! that was the beauty of our visit, and with the view of the Eiffel Tower from our room window, sheer joy, and a must for all who stay there,GO TO THE LA SERRA RESTURANT, the food and service is pure french and simply wounderful.

We were very disappointed in several members of the hotel staff who were extremely rude, nasty and do not belong in the travel industry. Lady behind desk was reluctant and impatient when it came to helping us with directions and dinner suggestions, or any other questions while yelling at several other staff members in front of us. She had a volitile and explosive personality, scary! When we came down for breakfast there were dirty dishes on the tables which was very unappealing so we ate elsewhere. The cleaning staff was extremely noisy, cleaning right outside our room while we were sleeping. She was vacuuming right up against our door banging on the door with the vacuum while talking very noisily with other staff in the hallway. When I brought this to the attention of the lady at the desk she started yelling at me!! Terrible customer service!!! The walls are thin, the floors creaky, you hear every sound...very noisy place, even with earplugs in your ears!! If you want coffee in the morning you better have change for the coffee machine! It took the staff about 5 minutes to find change for our paper Euro so we could have a small cup of coffee in a plastic cup. Messy and cluttered dining area. Biggest turnoff is the attitude of the staff. Biggest plus is the location on a very cheery market street with lots of food to buy. I recommend you stay at one of the other hotels if you want this location on this market street. The rooms small, bathroom tiny. No fresh towels the next day, had to ask for more soap! Maid should have left it for us. Very disappointed in La Serre. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Great location. Quirky rules, e.g., no food in rooms, made it all the more special. Beds comfy, but closet and desk area of very low quality and visually unattractive. I would recommend this hotel to others seeking a economical room in Paris.

One noisy room and one overlooking courtyard. Rooms were not very clean and not much room for 5 persons

Really enjoyed the bohemian atmosphere of the hotel and location in busy market street. Would recommend the hotel to anybody looking for a reasonably priced and well located hotel. Just a walk to the Eiffel Tower.

Charming cobblestone street but ask for room facing garden (quieter). Some baths redone. Rooms tiny with few amenities.

The room was really small. Had to go over the bed to get to the other side of the room. The bath was even smaller. The shower was so small that you couldn't bend over. The main receptionist was very unfriendly. One main complaint is they don't allow food in the room.

This hotel required 50% deposit by fax! A week before we were due they imposed 25e p.n. increase. Neither they nor Venere responded as to whether this was legal. As they actually took +5e pn, we gave in: Paris was 'full'! One night, 15 guests were locked out until roused by their desperate knocking we woke the porter at the door. The tiny lift was only available to/from 1st floor. A nearby cafe sold breakfast at 2e less the hotel. The cleaning staff were efficient and pleasant.
