room was fine if a bit small. ensuite was very tight. a fixed shower would have been useful. But room quiet and clean. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Staff ok but not over friendly. But very adequate for a 2star hotel fairly near the centre of Paris

Awful hotel room. Paper thin walls. You can hear every toilet flush, and (in my case) get driven mad by the lift (which the room was next to). The breakfast was the worst breakfast I have eaten in France (I live here, so have a lot of experience!). The staff were very helpful and pleasant, but this did not counter the awfulness of the total experience. And oh yes, they DO have wi-fi, in common with MANY other Paris hotels, but unlike other hotels they charge you for it. Which completely defeats the point (i.e. the good value) of staying in the hotel in the first place. In all a horrible hotel.

My last days of 2006 were very nice in JDR, it's a great quality vs price place!

The 53 euro per night I paid represented good value for money, but the full prices displayed in the hotel (80 euro and upwards, 9 euro for breakfast) are far too high for a 2 star with mostly small rooms and self service breakfast room. Overall the hotel compares favourably with my usual place opposite Gare du Nord - better TV reception, better food (if overpriced) and the added facility of a writing desk. Very hardworking chambermaids.

I only stayed a few hours in this hotel - arrived very late at night and got up early to catch the Eurostar from Gare de Nord back to England. The location is not very near Gare de Nord as I was led to believe! It is 20 minutes walking distance from the railway station or two underground stations if you take the metro - a bit awkard if you have heavy suitcases. Apart from that, everything was fine.
