Hotel De La Sorbonne

Hotel De La Sorbonne

6, Rue Victor Cousin - 75005 Paris

In the heart of Paris, in a neighborhood brimming with history lies our charming hotel! We are near prestigious sites such as the Pantheon, the Sorbonne and the Luxembourg gardens. Opposite the Sorbonne, one minute from the Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon, this lovely hotel (renovated in 2002) will envelop you in its warmth and colour. The shape and decoration of each room is different, and the cosy salon is a perfect antidote to the bustling Latin Quarter. This two-star hotel will surprise you by its originality and friendliness, and direct trains from either of Paris' airports will get you there in just 30 minutes. Frederic and his team will be greeting you at the hotel, and look forward to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Very chic design hotel. Great value for price.

I really like the location of Hotel de la Sorbonne since it's near the Saint Germain / St. Michel intersection and all that action. Plus, you're in easy walking distance of the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, Centre Pompidou and other sites. It has close access to both the RER and the Metro, making it both easy to get to/from the airport as well as most of Paris once you're in there. The hotel itself and rooms are small, but quiet and clean. As long as you're not expecting 5-star amenities, the place is perfectly fine and a good value for a tourist; if on business, the location may or may not be ideal.

Its right in the center, you can walk to all the attractions, many cheap restaurants close by. The rooms are nicely decorated but small. Close by is a little square where you can have breakfast. The university is right across the street. Just a perfect little romantic place!

Generally lovely place and people, somewhat more expensive than other comparable hotels in same area, but only place with vacancy for a 5 night stay during what is a busy, early Sept. season in Paris. Location near Cluny Museum, Luxumberg Gardens, Sorbonne, St. Michel Metro station, etc. is ideal. Hotel staff did our laundry for reasonable price & got whites as clean as new. Friendly and informative staff. Nice to have elevator, free morning papers, cereal and juice options for breakfast. Tricky location unless you walk up fountain plaza in front of Sorbonne off St. Michel and take right after the cafes.

We orderd a double bed but what we got was two single beds put together, this is very uncomfortable and it just leads to a couple sleeping on one bed so not to fall between the divide. We both were VERY unhappy with this room, but not being rude we didnt complain (in hindsight we should have, but we bit our tongues and said nothing). This is room 36, im not sure if all other rooms are like this, but it would have been nice to be made aware of this before hand!! Breakfast is served from 7am or 7:30 am to 10am. At 9:50 we entered the breakfast room only for the cook/preparer(?) to look at us, then at her watch and utter something under her breath, we could see on her watch it said 9:45 so we were actually 5 minutes earleir then we expected...we just found this rude! But apart from them two incidents the room is small and quaint, but we did request a room that wasnt on the roadside and we got this and tis very quiet at night, no complaints. The area is lovely, very central and in a very safe area. at 80euro per night its not that bad, for all the time u spend in it its value for money.

+ location excellent, staff very helpful and pleasant, rooms clean and comfortable, stayed at the hotel previously, will stay again - Hotel Bedroom very small with extremely small bathroom. No Tea and Coffee making facilities.

Excellent location, very clean room and good service. Only problem was that our room was next to the elevator, which was a bit noisy, so ask for a room not too close to the elevator

If I were you I would give this one a miss. There are much nicer hotels in the vacinity for the same price. The hotel is in a good location and that is it. Being a regular visiter to Paris I understand that you will not get luxury for this kind of money. I do however expect the place to be clean and the beds to made every day. The bed was never made in the four days we were there. The carpet was very dirty, the wallpaper hanging off and you could not even sit on the toilet it was so close to the wall. We had booked this hotel again for the summer but that is cancelled. To top off our stay here when we went to check out a 6.30am the person on the desk did not know how to work the card machine. I then had to go out and find a cashpoint and take cash out which I then got charged an overseas transaction fee rather than using my Credit Card. Go somewhere else they don't deserve your money.
