+ I selected this hotel because I thought it would have minimal traffic noise. This was certainly the case and very much appreciated. - The cleaning staff could be a bit quieter in the morning. There was a good deal of noise before 8 am from their coming

+ Certain members of the reception staff were very welcoming, it was nice to see a friendly face. - Bring earplugs! The hotel is very noisy and the walls are thin.

Hotel de la Paix is an absoloute gem! Set in the heart of Paris and literally only a 5 minute walk to the Eiffel tower, the website does not do it justice. The price is fabulous considering the location, and do not let the 2 stars put you off- not many 2 star hotels have plasma LCD tv's with satellite, air conditioning and a huge marble bath. We didnt have the breakfast- the general store at the end of the road and the various cafes and restaurants around offer a wide range of inexpensive and hearty french cuisine. The only criticism is the level of noise in the morning, which was copeable but noticable, and the size of the room, which with 4 people and suitcases left very little walking space. However, all in all this hotel was fab, with friendly staff and great rooms. Will definatley stay here again, and the location is the best in Paris. Highly recomended!!!

The room I had was fine, but you can hear everything, including the phone ringing at the reception, doors being opened or closed. You cannot leave the windows opened as there is no security. The price list at the hotel shown 120€ for the room, I would never pay this price for this room.

We had a very pleasant stay, hotel is very close to the Eiffel Tower,in a quiet side street. Staff are friendly & helpful. The only thing we didn't like was the stairs just outside the lift as they are cut away & no light switch as you come out of it.

+ Very close to major landmarks - we were asked to move rooms after the first day to a building next door, but this was much more spacious, so we obliged.

My room was small but functional, and the location of the hotel is great. Main complaints: Lots of noise from outside the room (people going up the stairs/lift), and no Wi-Fi, which this site says the hotel offers ("in the entire building") and was one reason I chose this place. There's just one computer in the lobby that you must pay to use.

+ Calm street, nice part of the town with many good food shops, very nice breakfast, pleasant atmosphere. - one comfortable chair in the room would be nice. A constant humming from the ventilation, I think. However, not spoiling my sleep :-)
