Very clean rooms, good selection of free English-language newspapers. Exceedingly courteous and helpful front-desk staff; they are very patient with stereotypical American guests who expect everyone to speak English. Excellent location: one block from largest organic farmers market in France (Sundays only), only minutes away from Joel Rubicon's famed restaurant. Also, good eclectic shopping in the neighborhood. Metro stop is one block away. Clean, quiet rooms with windows that open fully to allow the sounds of the city to filter into the room. Good value for summertime in Paris.

Although this is a standard Holiday Inn, the staff and the location were superb. Even with my fractured French they were very nice. Most of the staff is from other locales, Italy, Spain, Germany, so that makes it interesting as well and they will go out of thier way to help you with your French. I cannot say enough about the location, perfect, unless you have the $$$ to stay at Hotel Regina, you can't get much better. Not a ton of food choices in the hotel, just the bar area where you could get a salad or sandwhich but it was good and again, the staff was excellent. Got a deal through Air France Vacation but I would say the price is worth the admission.

The Holiday Inn St. Germain is located on a small side street close to the Montparnasse tower. My brother and I stayed here for 3 nights while in Paris. We chose this hotel because our French is not very good and we trust the American hotel brand.

The room was really shabby, the walls were dirty and the bathroom had mold all around it. Since the closet had a common wall with the bathroom, it also had mold in it. I asked to change a room and they did me a great favor by giving me another room just like the previous one with no apologies and with no offer for some sort of compensation.

This hotel is located in a very good area of the city. It is within easy walking distance from Rue de Renne, St Sulpice, and the beautiful Luxembourg Palace and gardens. It's also within medium walking distance to the Louvre, the Latin Quarter, and Notre Dame. The staff was exceptional and all spoke English, as well as Spanish to my wife's delight, (thank you Beatriz). The complimentary breakfast buffet rivals that of any hotel, and I've stayed in a few. If you're looking for a big expensive hotel, this is not for you. If you're looking for a great stay in a nice hotel with a wonderful, knowlegeable staff that won't break you, I recommend this hotel without hesitation. One quick warning though. The hotel is located on 'RUE de Vaugirard' not 'Boulivard de Vaugirard'. Make sure if you take a cab to stress this point, otherwise you'll end up in Monparnasse a few blocks away. Great stay!

It was ok. Good if you speak no French.

+ good price for a fine hotel - with a bad in Paris! - The smell of the room. I think it was a smoking room though.

We've tried lots of hotels in Paris, and this is one of our favourites. There are many more quaint hotels to choose from in Paris, but if you want a good clean air conditioned room with good service and lots of amenities the Holiday Inn Paris Saint Germain des Pres cannot be beat. For those who want to do business or just can't drag themselves away from the worldwide web, there is wireless internet available in the lobby and wired access in the rooms. (Pricy, but if you need it, it's there.) In the St. Germain area, it is a short block from the St. Placide Metro station and therefore very convenient to anywhere you may want to go. The rooms are small, but normal for Paris standards, and the staff are helpful. There is a good breakfast buffet, however we love the little cafe on the corner down the street and got along well with the staff. This hotel is good value for the money (in fact our rate turned out to be even less than advertised!) and highly recommended! David Brown The Savvy Traveler http://thesavvytraveler.com

The hotel staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The provided excellent suggestions for where to eat and what to do, and took care of the reservation process.

+ Nothing. The room was stinky, very small, reception staff behavior not pleasing, breakfast quality not up to the mark, the fruit salad was rotten. - Smell from the old room carpet.
