One other plus, hotel is about 5-7 minute ride from Gare de Nord (Eurostar) which makes it very convenient if using the train. Our taxi cost about $6.

Rooms large by French standard. Exceptional bath. Very convenient to Metro and many fine eating places. Impossible to beat in Paris. You can walk to the Opera Garnier, but a ways from Seine, etc. Staff great, but Hotel restaurant service typically French... a bit distainful and pricey.

The hotel is Holiday Inn, meaning they provide all the services you need, speak English, are helpful. Beds and bathrooms are comfortable. But there is a just slightly better than motel feel to the place and it is devoid of European charm. There are those who won't care and will be fine, but we like quirks and quaint.

The address is 10 Place de la République. Just find the République and the hotel is on the East side.

This is a hotel with great style. It's not the greatest or most luxurious, but it is worth your money.

The location was great. Republic square was a happening spot with cafes that stayed open and busy almost all night. Lots of close restaurants, cafes, patisseries, metro access, activity. Nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, in Europe. Has...

OK room, pick another location Room on the side street was noisy and area is a bit rough around the edges. On the other hand, it is on many subway lines.

Our room was nice and clean, but don't be fooled by the nice appearance We had two laptop computers, a backpack, and a carry-on bag (all things that are too large to fit into the room safe) stolen from our room. The hotel takes no responsibility or offers compensation for the loss. Both the hotel and the parent company, Intercontinental Hotels, were sorry for our loss, but even after filing a police report in Paris and sending in documentation to show ownership, three months later nothing has come of these efforts. Beware what you leave in your room and make sure you have proof of what personal items you leave in the room when you are not there!
