Cheap, Clean, and Friendly This is a great hotel for budget travelers and college students, but nice enough for a family. Not luxurious, but friendly and very affordable. Desk staff is polite, helpful, and mostly english speaking. Next to the Cadet Metro stop, many bars and restuants.

Okay hotel for location The hotel was okay for what I went to Paris to do, sightsee, it wasn't too far from a major road and metro stations, so that was convenient. The room was on the 1st floor, so there was only one set of stairs, the elevator, however was only big enough for one person and one large suitcase or two people with no suitcases. This could be a hiderance for people on higher floors. The bathroom was a decent size for European hotels and the room was an okay size. If you stay in the summer, however, the noise with the window open may be a bother as there is no true "air conditioning" cooling the room. All in all, it wasn't a bad stay and would consider staying there again.

+ The night receptionist (gentleman) was very kind and accomodating. - We were charged tax on top of the price which we agreed to originally. should this have happened? please let me know at your earliest convenience. i would like to follow up on that.

Grand Hotel lives up to its name (in a 2-star world) Use the Roissybus to get to Charles de Gaulle airport. Go to the Opera metro station and follow the signs to "Roissybus" which parks on Rue Scribe right behind the Opera Garnier. The bus has plenty of room for luggage and, best of all, drops you right in front of your terminal. Price is comparable to taking the RER. We bought our tickets from the Metro ticket booth at the Opera ahead of time, so we just walked on the bus and "composted" our ticket without delay.

Central, simple but clean. Noisy surroundings when windows open, which you have to have when the weather is warm since there is no airconditioning. Reasonable priced for a hotel in Paris.
