great location - walked to louve, champs, arch and d'orsay and traveled by batoboat for other sites = room had view of seine........ the french lived up to their expectations - totally uncooperative especially re any type of directions or subway/underground traveling - if you go be very prepared to take care of yourself........

It's been 15 years since I stayed here and I remember it being in a great location and a great value. We're going back this summer

As the other reviews have mentioned, the rooms are a bit small and it's not the place to go if you're looking for a lot of amenities, but the hotel is comfortable & the service is friendly . . . and you can't beat a room that looks out onto the Seine & the Louvre, especially for this price. The hotel is within walking distance from many great attractions (Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Eiffel Tower, etc) and is convenient to the Metro as well. I'm looking forward to my next stay this spring!

As much as I fear that great reviews will preclude me from getting a room here next time I am in Paris, I have to say how much I love this hotel. I stay here everytime I visit Paris and have never been disappointed. The staff is super friendly, and while the hotel is old it is well kept and very comfy. The rooms are small, but you are in Europe and that is pretty much the norm unless you want to spend a fortune. The location cannot be beat, the views are beautiful, and the breakfast room is a nice bonus. In addition, the history of this little hotel makes it that much more appealing. I have recommended this hotel to all my friends and none have been disappointed.

This Hotel is located in the middle of the Heart of Paris. Right on the river on the left bank, you can see the Louvre from your bedroom window. Oscar Wilde and Wagner the composer used to live here! The rooms leave something to be desired but the price makes up for the lack of space. As much as the French have a reputation for being short with American's I found the service to be quite helpful. You cannot find a hotel room in Paris anywhere near this location for the price of the Quai Voltaire. It's so good my travel agent asked me where I found it. It is only a short walk to the Louvre, the Museum de Orse, and Notre Dame.
