Staying in Des Mines Hotel was a very good experience, as a budget hotel it is ideal, there are no frills and the rooms are small (as expected in Paris)but everything was clean, reception friendly and the location very good. I would stay here again if saving money.

Very close to the RER station which was very useful. We were on the first floor, but were very rarely disturbed by noise from the trains. Nice area. Make sure to have lots of change with you if you intend to use the train as the ticket machines don't accept notes or foreign credit cards.

Very easy from CdG airport - RER is about 100m from hotel. Our plane was delayed but rooms were held and check-in was easy and efficient. Simple, clean hotel to use as a base for sightseeing. Small bar, no restaurant but good, inexpensive food nearby (Pizza Hut, Macdonald's available but for good French meals try Bar du Cercle at Rue Gay-Lussac.) Free map provided by hotel is very good and staff are very helpful. Internet provided. Cashpoint across the street next to small supermarket open till 24.00. Easy to find by car, park in side streets. Good varied shopping heading down towards the Seine and off Place St Michel.

nice but small room, clean and quiet, price/performance ratio is quite good. near public transportation and by foot not far from many sights (jardin de luxembourg, pantheon, quartier latin) we would stay again

+ The hotel had a homely feeling- well thought out and managed; floral displays in the Recepation area were a nie touch - we loved out fifth floor room, but it was a bit tight on space. Not good for a "'arge" individual!

There seems to be a mild intolerance from staff towards smokers at breakfast, and one of the reasons that we travelled to Paris was to avail of the liberty to smoke. Your establishment was the only occasion where we encountered a breakfast lady who showed her disapproval.

Although only a brief walk from the subway station... it could be rather daunting, especially late at night. We encountered several homeless beggars on the way. The hotel is conveniently located to Notre Dame and other major attractions. The rooms are small and cramped, as expected. The room IS air conditioned! This was the ONLY hotel of the 12 we stayed at throughout Europe with one. 15 Euros for a croissant, juice and coffee; quite the rip off. Extremely small elevator. Quiet, especially if you request a courtyard view room.
