We booked the Claret Bercy hotel due to its proximity to the Omnisport Centre and for that it was ideal. Unfortunately we were there for 4 nights and left totally exhausted. The room was small and stifling so I couldn't sleep without the window open and then the noise was unbearable. We were over a busy road, opposite numerous railway lines which were in constant use and just down the road from emergency service vehicles. (Photo from our window available on request). Breakfast finished at 10 and arrival after 9 resulted in a meagre offering. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening. The wine was magnificent;the meal mediocre. Overall disappointing.

Good value Room small but for the price think good value - very convenient to the Metro, and easy to get to if driving in from outside Paris.

It was OK for one night, especially close to Bercy concert hall. Room clean but obvious damage caused by water recently. Room poorly soundproofed. At breakfast, employees quarreling among guests and moving the buffet while still eating.

Great Hotel The skinny: Rooms are clean, however small. Room to leave a couple of suitcases out. Bathroom was clean and new like. Bed was firm. Heat was good in the room in January. Suggestion...standard rooms are in the front and you can not leave your window open...noise from the street and people going into the metro which is right out front (windows closed no real noise)pick the deluxe they overlook a court yard in the back of the hotel. Flat screen TV is mounted on wall (only BBC is in english)in the room. The resturant breakfast was fine with fruits, juices, yogurt, breads, cereal, some pastries, and coffee. Staff is very helpful and speaks english. Not much to do in hotel, can read a newspaper, surf the internet(8 euros for an hour) and sit in the lobby. Location is really conveint to the Metro. We used it everyday to go and explore. Connections are easy and staff will highlightthe direction on a map. Buy your water in the small food shops much cheaper than the hotel. Lunch on the run is easy from venders near most attractions. Prices of items vary, one tee shirt was 15 euros at one place and 9 euros at another, so do your shopping and compare. Also when changing money check various exchange shops, ask what the commission is. It will range from 0 to 6%. Use your Visa check card and hit the ATM, best rates and small service fees. We are comming back to visit our son in late March and will stay here again. Traveler's tip on local attractions Village of Bercy is within walking distance(10 mins) or 1 metro stop. Several resturants and shops are there. Nice park, can rent bikes to ride around park.

Excellent hotel but... The Claret was first-class for what we required, which was comfortable lodging for an autumn (fall) sporting trip. It might not be so ideal for a family holiday in high season - no a/c I don’t think, and a bit out of the centre. Part of the excellent Logis de France stable.

Small but worth the price Hotel was convienently located, close to restaurants and the tube. While the room and bath were quite small by American standards, for London the price and location made the room a good value.

Nice place in bercy!Just too much noise in the morning made by people who clean the rooms...People in reception have been really kind to us and helpful!Anyway,I liked it even if the bath was not one of the best I saw and the person who cleans rooms didn't change our sheets of the day before...enjoy your stay there!:-)

Mediocre Stay in Paris My mom and I stayed at this hotel for 4 days on our two week Europe trip. The overall appearance of the hotel is nice, but the rooms are very small. I know European rooms are small but this was the only hotel room we stayed in where we felt claustrophobic. Things were falling apart in the room, like the tile on the tub. The only good things about this hotel were the food and the access to the underground. We took the underground to the Louvre and were there within 5 minutes. The staff was very helpful and made our stay wonderful, but the overall shape of the hotel was poor. There are many other hotels closer to the big attractions in Paris and in better shape than this one. However, if you don’t mind the tiny rooms, this hotel is perfect for you.

Enjoyable stay, reasonably priced We booked the Hotel Claret based on the rating (4.5) and reviews on Expedia and found everything to be true. By Paris standards, the room size was OK (i.e. small but we expected that). The bed was comfortable, The room was clean and quit. Orange WI-FI is the wireless internet provider. There is a charge. The staff was friendly and spoke enough English to be helpful to us. If we ever get to go back to Paris, I will likely book here. The entrance to the metro is about ten steps from the front door. It is a short walk to the train station, Gare De Lyon. The neighborhood felt quiet, safe and well lit. We often came back from our day trips after dark. There was not a hitch on our reservation. Our stay was just great. Traveler's tip on dining We ate several times at Le Cafe Chambertin at 38 boulevard de Bercy, a few doors down from the Hotel Claret. The staff was friendly; the food was delightful and reasonably priced. Also a few doors down in the other direction is the Sing Thai restaurant. Also very good food at a reasonable price and very friendly. Both had an English version of the menu that made ordering easy.
