Family Friendly Whether coming in by train or airplane, the Metro is a very easy way to get to your hotel, as is far less expensive than a shuttle or taxi. IMPORTANT TIP: make sure that you have enough Euros in coinage with you when you arrive, and for every trip on the Metro. The ticket machines don't take ALL American credit cards, and the manned ticket booths have minimum transactions. You can easily get stuck in a station with lots of Euros in bills and no way to buy a ticket.

Better than expected We booked a family room for 4 during our Spring break. We were very pleased to find that the room was much larger than we had expected, given everything you read about Parisian hotels. There were separate kitchen, connected to the living room. Separate master bedroom, and an extra bed near the entry. Our room was facing the shopping mall, it was very quiet. The hotel is situated near a Metro station served by 3 separate Metro lines. Good price, quiet large and comfortable, near Metro, I'd highly recommend it.

Impressed I travelled with my 3 children for a 3 day break in Paris. Because of the ages of my children (16, 14 and 10) I did not want us all in the same room and I have to say we were very pleased with our choice. The hotel was clean and the room they gave us was very spacious - one room with double bed for my 2 daughters, I had single room and my son was on the sofa bed in the lounge area. We did not take the breakfast option, preferring to buy in croissants, pain au chocolats and juice etc, as this was cheaper option. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and we liked the area as it was right next to a Metro station so no traipsing around strange streets at night to get back to our hotel, and plenty of eateries nearby which were better value than eating near to any of the main sights. Also next door was an enclosed shopping mall which the kids liked (propably more than they did the Louvre!).

convenient location A very convenient location: subway (i.e. underground (i.e. metro)) is 50 (!) meters from the entrance to the hotel. The only reason to stay at that place is if you have a family and need three or more beds. More about location: shopping center is 30 meters from the entrance to the hotel (!). Closest laverie is 400 m.

Nice hotel The street numbering is a bit erratic on the Place d'Italie. The hotel is located on the side of the big shopping complex near Rue Augustin Blanqui.

Good Place to Stay There is a nice grocery store nearby that can really save some $$ on food. Bring an extra old towel unless you want to pay for daily cleaning.

Thumbs up, Good Value Citadines Place d’italie, was a fine place to stay for a week. I had a little reservation regarding the fold out bed, but the bed was really quite good and better than any fold out I’ve ever seen / slept on. The matress was thick, and i slept fine. That said, it was still a fold out and not as good as a regular bed you might find in a decent US hotel. The hotel staff was helpful and the place was clean. We had no technical problems. The in room safe worked fine. The kitchenette was really well equiped with nice granite countertops, a 3 burner cook top, a convection microwave, even a mini-dishwasher (worked great). The location is great. It’s a busy round about area but the hotel windows face a side street, and the windows are really well made, so it’s quiet without having to stay in the suburbs. The hotel is right over a metro stop that has good connections to everywhere (of course) and a straight shot to the Eiffle Tower. A few things not to miss: the street market sunday along one of the radial streets - awesome food, a good place to get fresh goods to make in your kitchen. And take a walk in the side streets around the Place D’Italie -- there are may good hidden gems back there - shops & restaurants. The neighborhood is a good relief from the intense tourist only areas closer to the center of town.

Family Friendly This hotel was exactly what we needed for our 4-person family. 1) Access to the Metro was literally just steps away, right in front of the hotel! 2) Three separate sleeping areas was a godsend! The Living Area had a couch with a trundle bed; the Entry hall had a single cot (comfortable enough); and the Bedroom had a queen size bed. 3) Having a Kitchen was wonderful! Our daughter has food allergies, and we were able to cook all our meals, and take a picnic lunch with us going sightseeing. (A grocery store is in the shopping mall basement on the same property.) Not to mention saving hundreds of dollars in dining costs! We would definitely stay there again. Good Place to Stay The best part of the room was looking out the window and seeing the Eiffel Tower. The worst part was that room service was charged by the day. My family and felt that for the money, the continental breakfast should have been included. It was nice being close to the Metro. The front desk staff were pleasant. Internet access was limite due to there being only one computer in the small business area. The wireless and wired connect in the room did not work. Traveler's tip on shopping There is a nice grocery store nearby that can really save some $$ on food. Bring an extra old towel unless you want to pay for daily cleaning.
