+ Hotel location was very close to metro and easy walking distance to all major attractions of the city.

We booked the hotel on the internet, and having never been to Paris, had no idea what to expect. We wanted to be within walking distance to Champs d'elyses; unfortunately it was an extremely long walk and we had to take a cab on our return trip. Also, the cabbies did not seem familiar with the location. That was about the only negative aspect of our stay.

A Cut Above Nice and clean, safe and convienent small hotel on quiet street. This hotel is an easy 3 minute walk to the metro Rome station. Staff very attentive to any request or need we had and served up a great breakfast!

I stayed at the Cervantes on my first trip to Europe, and this cozy little hotel exceeded every expectation I had. I expected, based on anecdotes from others, a tiny, dingy room with no bathroom and a rude staff. Instead, our group of 3 was pleasantly surprised when we were greeted by name upon entering. Furthermore, we were escorted to 2 room and asked to select which we preferred (both were equally well appointed, but one had 3 twin beds and the other had a queen and a twin).

Bad Location, Poor Accommodations Rome metro station is very close, but to be close to a metro station in Paris is not a differential at all. Also, metro line 2 is not very convenient to connections, making the trip longer. The neighborhood is residential with out all the excitement that one expects from Paris, even in a business trip: no nice restaurants, no nice shops and almost no people in the streets. The room was the smallest I have been in my entire life. I had just one small bag and a knapsack and felt a lack of space. The bathroom was ridiculous. I could not fit inside the space designed for the shower, making the water split all over. On the following days there was a bad small in the bathroom, probably because of the water. The hotel staff was nice, the breakfast is good enough and the free WiFi network (or the public desktop at the lobby) is very convenient. I have been to Paris many times and stayed in better places for the same money. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Look for hotels near Quartier Latin, Luxemburg or Marre. These are convenient tourist areas full with nice restaurants, shops and people. You will find similar hotel prices there.

The hotel was updated, stylish and comfortable. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and were very courtious and helpful. The rooms were exremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fresh and tastey!

Decent hotel in nice neighborhood Although I was initially disappointed with the bit out-dated decor in the room I was given (I was expecting one of the more modern rooms shown on the website), the room suited my husband and me very well for our 9-day stay. It was a bit small, but this is typical of European hotels and we’re quite used to it. The great thing was the refrigerator, which we used to stock up on juice, cheese, and sausage, which helped save on the food budget. The location was nice--a quiet neighborhood, but it is close to Gare St. Lazare, so if you’re in the back of the hotel, you hear the trains. The staff was extremely gracious and accommodating and the room was clean. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Traveler's tip on dining For a beautifully decorated brasserie open since the 1800s, check out Molliard’s, across from Gare St. Lazare. The best meal we had (and the most reasonably priced), was the wild hare at Cafe Louis, on Rue des Mathurins across from Square Louis XVI, also not far from Gare St. Lazare.

The breakfast was very good. Very nice service. Location next to the train station was a little noisy.
