If you love to shop...this is the Hotel to stay at. Famous designers are walking distance, like Hermes, Chanel, Prada, Cloe, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and so many more. English language at the hotel was not a problem. It's a pretty quick ride by taxi from Charles De Gaulle Airport. Effel Tower is not too far away, pretty good walking distance but quick taxi ride. Very close to embassies. Walking distance to the Opera district (15 min), Champs-Elysees Ave. (15 min), The Louvre (5-10 min). Times are approx. I will stay there again next visit to Paris.

Fantastic location This was our second visit to Hotel de Castiglione and once again we were very happy with our stay. This hotel is quite old and a little tired but it is well maintained and spotlessly clean. Our rooms, on both occassions, were comfortable and clean with decent bathrooms and absolutely no noise, which is pretty good for central Paris. However, the most oustanding feature of this hotel is its location. It really is right in the centre of everything, 10-15 mins walk from the Louvre and Orsay, 2 mins from the Place de la Concorde and 5 mins from the Champs Elysees. Overall, it may not be strictly 4 star standard but for the price I think it is excellent and I would definitely stay here again.

We had a brilliant stay at the Castiglione, staff are really polite and friendly with a great sense of humour. What the room lacked in size it certainly made up for with the vista. We had a room on the 7th floor that had a balcony and a spectacular view of the Palais Royale and the Tower. Hotel has great access to the fashion district and some nice cafe's and restaurants. Would have stayed longer but the prices for the room for Wednesday and Thursday nights was prohibitive. Great stay, loved it.

We were on a family vacation with our four adult children. Our daughter and her husband were given a room with dirty carpeting, with a rug attempting to cover up an especially large stain. In addition, the room was so small they could not open any drawers because the bed interfered. The room also had a very strong odor. Desk people were unfriendly and not helpful. We personally inspected the room after their complaints to us and found their complaints were justified.

We stayed in a Castiglione Hotel for 6 days. The rooms were very small. The staff are very helpful except for the old woman in the reception area with short blond hair. She is very rude in dealing with the guests. She must be fired or be sent to proper training for customer service. The staff in the restaurant offering daily breakfast buffet were excellent. The hotel needs total renovation specially the lobby. It looks like house of Dracula. All the furnitures are very old not classic. Needs total renovation. The exhaust fan and ceiling in the bathroom are full of molds. I don't think it will pass 2 star hotels in comparison with the other hotels. Wondering where it got the 4 stars categories in Paris standard? All the place were dim lighted so we cannot see the molds and the spider webs in the lobby. The electric was not working on the first day of our stay. The lift was not working for 2 days. I traveled with my husband and 3 children, no choice but to stay in the same hotel because most of the hotels are fully booked. Quite expensive hotel but very low standard.

LOCATIN IS GOOD. MY ROOM WAS VERY LIGHTFUL BUT HAS ONLY 1 VERY VERY SMALL WINDOW AND SINK IS LOCATED HIGH (NOT GOOD FOR CHILD). I THINK I LEFT MY BELONGING AND I HAD TO CALL THE HOTEL SEVERAL TIMES ONLY TO CHECK WHETHER THEY FOUND IT OR NOT. SERVICE IS POOR AND BREAKFAST IS COMPLETELY SELF SERVICE. IT SEEMS BUSINESS HOTEL.

never again! It may be on a cool street but this is not a cool hotel....and it's a shame. Original features I guess from 20's and 30's, good location, nice staff..and the room was quirky and clean. BUT boy was it musty...and smelt damp. Really 70's that way:). The food was also 70's I asked for a room service club sandwich and the chicken was processed stuff.....utterly depressing and a real shame. Nope never again, felt I was in "rising damp" and not wanting to stay there ever again.

Although the room itself was only partly renovated (tired furniture and not enough power points), the bathroom was brand new so all in all, acceptable at our (discounted) price. However I will not stay there again until the fee for WiFi connection is reduced. I had to pay 10 euro PER HOUR!!! Absolutely shocking, I could hire a BMW for that rate. The restaurant is overpriced as well, brasseries in the area are better. Try the wine bar on Place de la Madeleine, nice selection of wine by the glass and food

We stayed here in October 2003 and hopefully the hotel rooms have improved since then - the first room we were given was no bigger than a walk-in wardrobe with a rotting door to the bathroom and no window. We were so exhausted after our 24 hour flight that we just lay on the bed and slept until we had enough energy to complain about the room. We were told it was a standard room however it looked nothing like any room that was on the hotel website. We were given another room which had a view of the Eiffel Tower and even though it was not a great room for the amount of money being charged the compensation was the view of the tower and the hotel is very well located so I suppose that is what you pay for.
