Best hotel in Paris I ever stayed. Large rooms. Very quiet. Very good location. WIFI in rooms. Helpful bilingual staff. Great breakfast.

The grumpy staff rather spoiled it for us. We were told off for moving the chairs in the bar. The kettle which was offered in the information brochure was relutantly lent - but with no tea bags - we had to beg to be given 2 from the breakfast buffet. The children's room (twin beds) was 10E more than we expected - this could have been stated on the phone before we arrived. A fungus stained shower spoiled an otherwise spotless room. Very good breakfast (not included) though, and the hotel is extremely well situated.

The location is inconvenient via the Metro, not on a main line The breakfast is expensive, but I saw people making sandwiches for their daypack, so it’s a savings if you steal a snack for later. Using the Metro is a pain, because the nearest interchange is very large and the underground trek is unpleasant, sometimes. The nearby restaurants are good, but can be a bit pricey. It’s nice to have the garden nearby and, surprisingly, the Montparnasse Cemetery is a treat too, though a bit creepy. But, I like creepy things, so it’s a wash. Back at the hotel, the "shower" is handheld and too small to allow room for an assistant. The nearest Starbucks is a 6 min+/- walk, but worth it. Trust me. I had a backache all week from the bed. I could barely sleep, so I’ll give 1 point, because there isn’t any lower option available. Traveler's tip on dining The breakfast at Le Select is good, the Croque Select is a treat. The best nearby crepes are at the little spot down past the theatre and opposite the Starbucks.

+ We could order tickets to the Lido-show from the hotel reception - a very service-minded man did it for us. And he also reserved a table at a popular restaurant at the Ile St.Louis. - The rooms and the bathrooms are very small. No air-condition.
