Great/helpful staff, especially Gioma. Great location close to Montparnasse which is accessible by Air France bus (10 euros per person) direct from CDG airport. Metro is 5 minutes by walk on both sides. Many restaurants including a McDonald's nearby. Great location. Many shops nearby including a small grocery.

The hotel was perfect for us as budget travellers and dependent on public transport; within a few metres of 3 Metro stations, and easy walking distance to cafes, shops etc we would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to any travellers in similar circumstances to ourselves. None

We stayed here for 4 nights in August on the very top floor. This was problematic as the tiny elevator doesn't go that high so we had to haul our luggage the rest of the way. Also the shower was so tiny. My husband is skinny and 6'4" and had quite a lot of difficulty fitting inside (low clearance and very narrow box). There is no airconditioning as is pretty normal. The main annoyance was the construction outside our window which commenced quite early with a lot of racket. (Hopefully this isn't an ongoing problem). Generally, the room was comfortable, small, and gabled. The staff was helpful and assisted us in arranging a ride to the airport. The location is excellent as it is near shopping, transit and restaurants. An acceptable arrangement just a bit cramped.

I have to write this review in order say th final truth. Referred to my previous post of 22/5/06, after 6 month of silence I have been remboursed for the night I never passed at this Hotel. Maybe continous writings make effect. I give 1 rate more as the clerk was very kind.

All in all, I enjoyed this hotel. Idiosyncracies aside. I was told by my friend who lived in Paris that by Parisian standards, this hotel was luxury. Now, in the states, I probably would have kicked up a fuss, but in Paris it worked just fine. I loved that the hotel was central for us, literally surrounded by metro stops. The Latin Quarter is technically walking distance, I mean if you train for marathons. Believe me, I got lost the first night causing my sister to walk a couple miles, which in turn led to her letting her frustration out by yelling at a rude waiter. But walking distance none the less. The hotel is run by some gruff women who were pretty curt when asked a question. The normal reply, "of course!" regardless of what I asked. We had to leave our gigantic key with reception before we left the hotel, which I had never experienced before. And the hotel had no "do not disturb" signs. These may be common to European hotels, but I wasn't aware. The maid service started banging on doors around 9am. 9AM! After a night of french wine, firefighters and massive amounts of cheese, the last thing I was in the mood for was the door being barged open at 9AM. Oh well. Another thing, the hotel front door gets locked I think at midnight, which means you have to ring the buzzer to get back in. Good for safety, a bit embarrasing when you have to be let in every night/morning. I felt like my parents were grounding me everytime I went up the staircase, wheezing for air, trying not to fall down the dangerous steps. You will know what I mean when you get there. I kept my expectations low because of all the bad reviews but was pleasantly surprised. I would probably stay here again. I loved Paris and as I said, the location was hard to beat.

Perfect for travelling students, the room was small but cute. Bathroom was equal in size to bedroom and both had a charming view of neighboring apartments and real Parisian life. Within a block of the Metro, location was great. Several lovely restaurants, bistros and coffee houses within a 5 minute walk. Front desk was friendly despite our bumbling French and incessant questions. We were out early in the morning and late at night with no worries about security. I will most definitely stay here again.
