Having just finished traveling Europe and staying in hostels, I found my way into the Abricotel when all of the hostels that my travel guide recommended were booked. It isn't easy to find, but is within walking distance of Gare Du Nord (where connections can be made to Eurostar) and the Stallingrad Metro station. Once checked in, you will enjoy private bathroom, in-room TV and phone and 24hr front desk.

It is a very modest hotel, but my tiny single room had a big window to the back courtyard and i could sleep well without street noise. The metro was two minutes away.

Grubby hotel with tiny rooms with very little storage space (one 2ft hanging rail). Minute bathroom with very bad smell. Chain smoking 24hr reception, paper thin walls. Situated on a very busy main road in a grimey area. Most sites advertise parking with the hotel, which means parking 3km away if you pay and there's a space.

The hotel is located in a not so nice area of Paris. It's grubby smelly and noisey. Our room was small (you had to walk on the bed to get to the window). The hanging wardrobe was broken, the quilt was frayed and had holes in it, curtains not hooked to track properly so difficult to close. The shower was broken. A major concern was the lack of smoke dectectors and information relating to emergency exits. Hotel generally run down hotel in need of a complete refurbishment. There are much nicer 2 star hotels in Paris. My advise always read the reviews before you book. I'll certainly remember my own advice next time!

We never paid very much for our hotel ... we only really needed a place to sleep because we knew we would be out around paris sight seeing for most of our trip. we were expecting a grubby little place because it was so cheap but we were totally wrong the abricotel was really good value for money it was clean and tidy, and the beds were comfy. Our room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels ect... everyday. The hotel was away from the noisey busy roads so when we were exhausted from the busy city we got a great peaceful nights sleep. The staff never spoke alot of english but they did make us feel very welcome. We definetly got our money's worth. If we go to paris again we would stay at this hotel again.

I spent 3 days at the Abricotel, and it was completely satisfying. The room I was in was surprisingly large compared to other French hotels. The room was clean, there was a TV, a big bathroom, and they gave free shampoo, shower gel, soap, and even a shoe polisher(!) every day. Breakfast was not included in the room price however. The staff was professional. The only downside was that the subway/metro was about 5-10min away, and the hotel is located near a busy road. However, 3 supermarkets were closeby. Overall I would recommend this hotel to just about anybody!

Do not go to this hotel/hostel. The service was horrible, staff snapping at guests. And the absolute worse was the bed bugs! We had brought our own sheets, but needed up getting bitten by bugs from the mattress/bed. It was a nightmare. You have to throw all your clothes out and see a doctor, because they are not your usual bugs. They need to close that place down.
