Aberotel Montparnasse Hotel Paris
24, Rue Blomet - 75015 Paris
Aberotel Montparnasse is an attractive 3-star hotel situated, as the name suggests, in Montparnasse, in the 15th arrondissement in the south of Paris. This place could be described as an oasis of peace and quiet in an authentic Parisian neighbourhood which is full of restaurants, typical “brasseries” and night clubs, very close to famous places such as the Eiffel Tower, les Invalides and the Latin neighbourhood as well as the financial district of Porte de Versailles. The hotel has 28 smart rooms, all decorated with a personal touch using cloth and tapestry brought directly to the hotel from the Orient by the owner herself. There are single, double and triple rooms (with single beds), all equipped with a complete bathroom (with a hair dryer), telephone, satellite TV, wifi Internet connection, a safe, air conditioning, heating and cots for babies on request. The hotel also offers a friendly and efficient reception service 24 hours a day (staff speak French, Spanish, English, Italian, Arabic and Russian), lift, safe, laundry service, Internet in communal areas and a left-luggage office. There is a public car park 150 metres from the establishment. Pets are permitted (extra charge of 6€ per day).An authentic 3-star hotel for a peaceful and pleasant stay in Paris!

Nice hotel, good position, good price/ratio. Kind and helpfull people. Nice atmosphere. Free wifi access Small rooms, with not enough space for luggage. Safe box is screwed to a removable piece of wood, so it is not safe at all. Bath tube is small even for a baby.

The Alberotel Paris, located in Montparnasse was a fairly priced hotel in a quiet section of Paris. It is only a walk of a few blocks from the nearest Metro station and is easily accessed by the train from the CDG. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful and should be considered an asset. We had requested a non-smoking room, and supposedly we received one, but the room smelled stale and there was an ashtray in the room. This was disappointing, but as we were on a courtyard we were able to leave our window open to keep fresh air in the room. Overall, if you're on a budget, this is a good place to stay, but I would probably opt to pay a little more next time to be assured I had a smoke-free room.

Stayed at the Aberotel Montparnasse for 5 nights at the end of May while sightseeing around Paris. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated, though fairly small. The in-room safe cost an extra 2 euros/night, which I didn't know ahead of time. There was no airconditioning, but it was cold when I was there, so I didn't need it. The hotel itself and the surroundings were very quiet. There are 3 metro stops within a 5 minute walk and lots of restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries nearby. The location is a bit far from most tourist attractions, but all were easily accessible by the metro. The staff were all polite and spoke fluent English. Breakfast was ok at 8 euros, although there wasn't too much choice. The internet in the lobby was not too expensive, but also very slow. Overall I enjoyed my stay very much and would come back to this hotel if I visit Paris again.

Stayed for 4 nights over weekend - travelling to Porte de Versailles every day for exhibition (15 mins door to door via metro Volontaires). Great location as on 2 metro lines. Good bistrot round the corner - Cafe du Roi - but helps if you speak some French. Free wi-fi broadband a great boon. Room fine. Manager very helpful. Breakfast adequate with slightly frosty service. I much prefer this type of hotel to the big ones near the fair (and much cheaper).

The hotel was OK in overall; the location and tidyness etc, although the walk from the metro was a bit long. There was a problem with the heating; either it wasn't on, or if it was, it was on too hot. Anyhow, there are much cheaper options available in Paris for the same level of equipment and service.

While Aberotel is situated very conveniently within the 15eme and the staff are polite and helpful, I have several complaints which prevent me from recommending this hotel. First, the hotel linens were less than pleasing. Each day I was treated to towels that smelled of various food items (mayonaise, chocolate, chili pepper). I'm guessing that they were either stored in the pantry with food or cleaned poorly. I finally had to get a travel towel since I did not want to use the ones provided by the hotel. Next, the shower/tub did not have any shower curtain. It was impossible to take a shower without creating a lake around the base of the tub. While the hotel otherwise was clean, I would not recommend this hotel for the average traveller.

The Aberotel was my home for a week during a conference. The rooms were clean and cozy, the staff friendly and helpful. The desk staff all speak fluent english and were great at recommending places to eat and the right metro lines to take me to museums, etc. My only complaint is that the hot water went out one morning and I had to take a very cold shower! When I returned in the evening the problem had been fixed. It was probably a rare occurrence as the place seemed to be very well taken care of.

The Aberotel Montparnasse is a little gem in a quieter, less frequented neighborhood (15th District). If traveling without a car, taking the Metro to all points of interest can be a challenge and a bit time-consuming if you are a first-time traveler. Our group was pleasantly surprised to find that each room has its own airconditioning unit (and a quiet unit) that can be controlled by the occupant. Because the rooms are quite small, one can close the sliding door to the bathroom, turn on the airconditioning and within minutes the room will cool down. I stayed in a room by myself and had just enough room for my big suitcase and carry-on. I'm sure they offer slightly larger rooms if you're traveling in pairs. While we were staying in Paris, each day brought temperatures close to 100 degrees. So, needless to say, by the end of each day we were exhausted from all the walking and ready to jump into the shower! The staff at the Aberotel Montparnasse were, on the whole, very pleasant and friendly. One exception was the lady in the breakfast room. There were no pleasantries exchanged and you felt you were dealing with someone who had gotten out on the wrong side of the bed. I know of two instances where she was very rude. I accidently walked behind the counter to find some rolls and was reprimanded sternly to stay out of that area. My tour manager also was treated with disrespect one morning and told me about it after my experience. This wouldn't be a person I'd hire to have direct contact with the paying customers. I did notice that the other employees were always busy keeping the place clean and would smile when we'd pass. There is a small outside garden area where one can sit to eat breakfast (very simple breakfast items of cereal, milk, coffee and rolls and jams) or you can sit in the small interior dining area (can seat about 10 people at a time). The lobby area was well-lit and bright...the elevator worked well....If you are looking for the Ritz, this isn't it. But, if you're going to be out and about all day long and just want a clean little air conditioned room with adequate bathroom facilities to come home to...this is a nice little hotel.
