The hotel staff are really nice, I would stay here again, it's not a 5* by any means, but for value for money, your not going to get better.

The location is perfect, but the hotel is very very old. Probably we was unlucky, but our room was very noisy (I can hear pefectly what happens in the next rooms). Bathroom was not very well cleaned. I think there is something better with similar location and price :)

it is convenient for sleeping and being close to downtown and to the beach. the room service cleaned our apartment everyday. as long as you don´t have big expectations, the astor is a good place to stay. the only bad thing are the bathrooms - way too small!!

+ Free WiFi, good air conditioning and ceiling ventilator. - Big-size room is a good thing, but not for the price of extremely small bathroom.

    1) Was suprised to find out that pillows were not included in the standard room. Staff was gracious enough to provide the pillows with no charge. 2) Found food remains in the room - room was not cleaned properly.

+ Wlan connecton and the AC was working - Poor quality and standard of the hotel as such. For example buttons missing on the TV set. Door for the shower cabin was misssing, sewer system inside the rooms so that you can hear when someone is taking a shower

There are both positives and negatives regarding this hotel... On the positive side, the hotel was in a good location for the town centre, with many restaurants and the beach probably only a 5-10 min walk away. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good and delivered promptly (you can choose to eat in a breakfast area or in your own room). The room was equipped with a tv and ceiling fan (although the weather was v.hot outside, this helped to keep the room temperature down) The staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient. On the negative side, I do think the rooms and public areas were a little shabby, dark and needed to be significantly updated (some dodgy wallpaper and carpets!) - definitely not modern decor. In addition the fridge/min bar didn't work in my room and I couldn't work out how to use the safe (a guest information book would be useful!) Also it wasn't clear on the website but breakfast does cost extra (6 or7 euros per night). Overall I was happy with my stay but I think the hotel is in need of some updating to brighten it up (it did look quite unappealing at first). If,like me, you are not fussy about a fancy room then this hotel would be good value - however I would say not to bother booking a 'superior' room, as I did and could tell no difference (I believe some have balconies or terraces but really there is no view to look out at!). There are other hotels in this price range and area that looked nicer (i.e. Hotel Crillon)
