Marriete Pacha

. Place Du 4-Septembre 5 - 13007 Marseille

Covering 3 floors, the air-conditioned hotel offers 21 rooms as well as various facilities including a 24-hour reception desk with a hotel safe, a café, a TV room, a public Internet terminal, room service and a car park. Tucked away on the appealing place du Septembre square, close to the city and just 200m (656ft) from the sea, this quiet family-run hotel puts a contemporary twist on Provence's traditional buttercup yellow and sky blue decor and is great value for the price. Creatively configured to be adapted for a range of accommodation, the single 'eco' rooms have their own showers (neatly fitted into alcoves), and private use of a toilet located outside the room. These can also be combined with an adjoining double, with an additional external door to create family rooms that offer independence for kids (and privacy for parents!). All rooms are soundproofed and air-conditioned, rooms on the 1st floor have individual climate control. Many of the 21 rooms have French windows opening to little balconies with views over the square. The hotel handily has its own private parking on-site. Attractive public areas, including the breakfast room, and the central stairwell and corridors are light-filled, though there's no lift, hence no wheelchair access.

We arrived at the hotel very late on Sept 11, therefore, it would have really been Sept 12. We said that we wanted to pay for our room for both nights at that point so we would have to worry about it. Our confirmation stated it was 170 euro (85/night) for 2 nights but we were charged 172.18 euro (86.09/night) because of the city tax. We paid the full amount. On the 13th of Sept we left and handed in our keys. We left our bags in the hotel after we checked out to see a bit more of the city. At no point did anyone mention that we owed money.

This hotel was very fine for the price. The photos did lead one to a more gorgeous impression than when I actually arrived. But the room was clean, comfortable, and great for one person. I was really barely there, except to sleep. And it was not far at all from the Vieux Port. Easy to get to tourist attractions and beaches. A great location all around...

Little, cute, clean typical french hotel. Staff was very friendly and comptetent, and the room has first class sound-absorbing windows. We really enjoyed staying there.

It's a peacefully, small and older hotel, perhaps a little far from the centertown, but well comunicated by bus. Managed by a lovely family, who provides you attention and service. It's limited but confortable.

Hotel is nice although pictures make it look bigger than it is. Typical French city hotel with staircase up the middle and small rooms. No lift. Good location, about 15 min walk to Old Port area. Can also take bus. Breakfast is 8 euro for nothing much really plus there are patisseries and a supermarket neaby. Very nice and friendly pizzaria up the side road next to it.
