X is the best hotel manager that I have met in all of my travels. I stayed one summer for two months and another for a week and it didn't matter if I was out at the vieux port or in the hotel he would always stop to see if everthing was fine and...

Convenient This hotel had a microwave, stovetop, and refrigerator, which were all helped to save us money from eating out everyday. The grocery store was also less than a mile away as was the Vieux Port. However, the immediate location was not exactly ideal. The view from our room was of an apartment complex that wasn’t exactly the best, so standing on the balcony was near impossible without some of our neighbors looking up at us (mostly kids). Still, we had no real problems. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Walk a few blocks to the Lafayette grocery store (part of the shopping center) and buy a few items. It will save you money from having to eat out everyday.

OK Everything about this hotel was great -except the location!! It was tucked away in what seemed like a dubious area. While it was right by an underground station and only a short walk from the old harbour area but we didn't feel that safe walking back to hotel.

Would Stay Again The location of the hotel compared to the train station was unbeatable & served as an excellent hub for walking around the city. We weren’t too far from the Old Port which was convenient as most sites are located around it. There is a McDonald’s opened late just around the corner which was also handy when we arrived later than planned. Be aware that check-in closes at 8pm unless you notify them! Our train was 40 minutes late & we feared we would not get our room as we arrived at 8:15pm. Luckily, the night security had our paperwork & we were able to check in. Breakfast costs extra, but the cooking facilities within the room were enough for whatever we desired. We also had a TV with BBC & CNN so we could keep up with the news & a free internet computer is located in the lobby of the hotel. If you walk from the train station, look for the McDonald’s at the top of the street. We walked past the hotel street several times, but eventually found it. Definitely go see the church on the "mountain," but if you take the kids, don’t walk! It’s quite a hike!

I'm satisfied I would return to the same hotel if I visit Marseille in the future. Clean and quite comfortable room (bright nice furniture, wide screen TV, cable, telephone and i-net access, air cond.) with separate kitchen/ette (fully equipped). CLose to Old Port (10 min. walking distance) and just minutes to Metro (u-ground stations).

no electric kettle, no toaster, microwave oven is so high up,its very difficult to cook something . one hot plate is so slow to warm up(one was ok), take ages to warm. bed room windows cannot open.i think it is safety hazard in case of fire.

+ clean, neat, businesslike - First time I've stayed in an APART'hotel. Didn't need the residency facilities (kitchen etc), so that paying for these probably meant that for me the value for money wasn't as good as if I'd stayed in a conventional hotel wit
