Campanile Marseille St Antoine

Helpful staff and rooms all easily accessible, good for the airport , food fine and service good in restaurant

The hotel's location is just off the motorway which makes it very practical if you are travelling by car and is about 20 minutes from the city centre by bus which is located about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel itself feels quite secure as they have a gate, security guard and the entrance is under constant surveillance, which is good as though the neighbourhood looked ok during the day, it was pretty deserted and scary looking at night. The room was good, the standard Campanile format so quite comfortable. My only real complaint was that the staff were not helpful at all and it was a real pain having to ask for things that had not been provided ie. towels, etc as they were not really interested in helping you out. Overall though, it's not a bad place to stay at all, and it is probably preferable if you have a car as getting there is easy and you don't need to deal with the streets of Marseille if you take the bus into town. I wouldn't really recommend it to people travelling on their own though because it's a bit out of the way and not fun to get home after dark on your own!
