This hotel is excellent value for money. The location is very central, the parking is ideal, the staff are friendly and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was also included and there was a great selection. Considering the price I could not find a fault with this hotel.

We booked a 'superior' room which was small and basic, with a very outdated even smaller bathroom, and a separate WC so narrow that we kept banging our elbows. The lavatory was stained, and the pull cord for the extractor (which we then discovered did not work) so grubby that I wrapped tissue round the end. Breakfast, which was adequate, is served in a windowless basement room. We did not eat in their restaurant, as I refused to hand over any more money to them. The front desk shuts down at 11pm, and the staff were not particularly welcoming or helpful. We will not go back.

Room was newly decorated and clean. The bed was a little hard but generally ok. Room had a fridge but no kettle. A couple of other observations: Reading the TP reviews a consistent complaint is small room sizes but they are not that bad. Our room had a built in wardrobe but for some reason they put a second large freestanding wardrobe into the room, it was pointless and made the room smaller than necessary. If you pay €94 (rack rate) for a standard double room then its poor value for money and 95% of websites were selling the rooms at rack rate. We booked through ebookers online €66 for a standard double room which is reasonable value for money.

Good location about 10 mins walk from the centre, lovely old building, safe parking, pleasant staff and, at only €66 for a comfortable double room, exceptional value.

Arrived late in the afternoon in Dijon armed only with our Red Michelin guide. We stopped by a few of the City's "top" hotels but they wanted over $160e plus parking. We decided to save our euro's for dinner tried a few other hotels. Dijon is a city of winding streets and found ourselves in front of the Phillipe le Bon. The rate was much lower (87e) and the room very nice. The hotel has its own parking (no charge). The hotel room while small was pleasant. The hotel is across the street from a public parking garage and our room faced the street so there was a little noise during the day, at night it was quite. Some rooms face a court yard. The hotel restaurant was great and expensive! While the food was wonderful the service was only ok, but a great experience nevertheless. The restaurant was busy so make a reservation.

The hotel is very well located in a quiet street close to the city center. We stayed for one night in February in the standard room, looking at the street but still very quiet. Room were comfortable and clean, with exception of the shower curtain, which wasn't completely clean. People were very helpful and frienldy, at the phone as well as at the reception. Only small problem: the time of check out is not written, such that we did not know howlong we were allowed to stay at in the morning.

We stopped in Dijon on the way down south and were really pleased that we did. Dijon is a lovely city with winding streets and some fantastic buildings. The Hotel Philippe Le Bon was a great find. It is perfectly located only a short 5-10 minute walk to the centre of things. Was a real advantage having free car-parking, which was locked up at night for security. We had a good sized room which although didn't include any tea/coffee making facilities there was a mini-bar with some soft drinks you could purchase. Room service was excellent, and when I ordered just a coffee, it came with a selection of petit-fours which was a nice touch.

Great find, central location, clean, comfortable, awesome restaurant with award winning wine list. This place was a nice little find! Found on this site from reviews & was not disappointed. Great service, friendly staff, better than average breakfast that was also available in room.

Travelling as two families we used the hotel as a stopover going south. Although not cheap, the hotel offered a good standard of accomodation, reinforced by a quiet location. It benefits from its own restaurant, which offers well prepared food at a price. It should be noted that the focus here is less grub than wine, some of which easily hit the three digit mark. We used the restaurant mainly because of the lateness of the hour and the fact that it was raining. Overall we were not disappointed, although I suspect the arrival of 8 travel-worn people at the restaurant may have let the tone down a bit - most people rather smartly dressed. The hotel benefits from its own car park, which is accessed through a narrow (for an SUV!) gateway opposite the hotel's main entrance ... this is before the St. Anne underground car park, which is situated on the same side, but just after the hotel entrance.
