The restaurant and staff were exceptional and were the chief reason for staying there, having read about it in a WSJ article. The hotel is located in the old section of the city and is in an excellent location for exploring its shops, streets and buildings. However, our room was small and though the bathroom was newly remodeled, a section of tile on the tub face beneath the sink had fallen or been pulled out under the sink and the tub lacked a shower rod and curtain. We queried staff about this but they said, 'Oh yes, your room does not have those yet!" The hotel lacked a computer and printer that guests could use for business or travel needs, but there are internet cafe's within a few blocks walk. In summary, the hotel staff was helpful and friendly and the restaurant was excellent. However the actual accommodations and services available need considerable improvement to match the level of expectations set by those attracted to the restaurant.

I was expecting a little more class for the price. Basically, this is an old mansion with a Best Western sign out front and really tiny AND expensive rooms inside. The restaurant downstairs is average and expensive as well. Breakfast choices were not memorable. If you do stay here, get a room above the 2nd floor because the noise and light from the street will keep you up. It's in a fairly good location to a couple of churches but still a far walking distance from the train station. In our stay in Dijon, we found several hotels with better prices and locations. I wouldn't stay here again.

I booked 2 nights in this hotel about 2 months in advance. On their website they offer a "Superior Room with Jacuzzi" at 155Euro's per night. The room was OK, nothing special, with minimal things for the guests. The toilet was in a separate room to the bathroom. See attached photo of the toilet - A Disgrace! The blind in the bathroom over with window was pulled down and broke, so we couldn't lift the blind, the extractor fan in the bathroom was broke and never worked, so it was extremely steamy in the bathroom when taking a shower. And the Jacuzzi didn't work!!! I notified reception, and said that when i checked out i wanted to pay the Standard Room rate which was 139Euro a night. So much for a "superior room". The breakfast was 15Euro per person, and I have had better breakfasts and choices in a 2 star hotel. It was really over priced. The staff in the breakfast room were miserable and up tight. One morning I went for breakfast there was no milk, no cereal bowls. Which did arrive later. But they left the scrambled egg bowl empty for half an hour, so i never had the eggs. For 15 Euro you expect better service than that. On checking out, the hotel charged me for the "Superior Room with Jacuzzi" room rate even though the Jacuzzi never worked, and offered me 2 free coffee's that we drank the day before as a way of compensation!!! What a JOKE, and an insult. I insisted this was not good enough, and listed all the other issues with the room, and then they ôffered me one of the two days of breakfasts free. I will never stay at this hotel again, when I spend 155Euro a night in a hotel I expect more luxury and things that work in the room.

Although I had read numberous guide books saying that this was one of Dijons finest hotels, I must say if that was their finest I would hate to see their worst! The rooms are beyond average, the staff was very nice, but this hotel is nothing special unless you are used to saying at hotel 6, then I guess it would be an upgrade! Wouldn't stay here again.
