When we visit Cannes we always visit the Carlton and Carlton beach and we always book our apartment with http://www.palmedazur.com. Both Palme dazur s.a. and the Intercontinental carlton in Cannes have brought us amazing moments during our stay.

Outstanding Can't fault it. If you want a romantic weekend away then this is the place to stay. Which is why Sean Connery and Catherine Deneuve are amongst the long list of distinguished past guests. One warning - this hotel, like Cannes in general, is not cheap, especially with the Euro as strong as it is now.

This is one of "The Leading Hotels of The World" and I can definitely attest to that. It has 20''s style elegance, rooms with marble bathrooms, views of the ocean (but for more $), friendly service, a breakfast buffet that is complimentary and has...

It's what you would expect, only more so The Carlton Inter-Conti was - to my tastes - rather more relaxed and less grasping, and a great option for lunch (try the buffet)

Went to the Martinez at the beginning of Setpember. It was very busy. The room although the living quarters were adequate the wardrobe space was very small, and was not to a high level as expected in a 4 star deluxe hote.

I just returned from a stay at the Hotel Martinez. I cannot recommend this hotel as anything more than three stars, average hotel. The hotel's best feature is it's location on La Croisette, the main avenue where all the action/people watching occurs. The rooms were mediocre (I had two since I brought my family while I attended a conference.) Sagging beds, shabby covers, broken TVs detracted from our stay. The food was mediocre and meals were consistently delivered not as we ordered. The breakfast buffet is excellent but the seating leaves much to be desired. There is no hotel shop for newspapers and such. The pool spots must be reserved and are charged for half or full day. Many were upset that the pool closed at 6pm! while the sun was still glaring and hot. Ridiculous. One day the pool was closed due to a private corporate party. If you choose the hotel's beach across the street (and enjoy feeling like a sardine) you must pay separately for the beach and the pool. While I had a fabulous time in Cannes, I will stay at another hotel on La Croisette next visit. This hotel needs to be upgraded to be considered beyond average for the very expensive rates it charges. Keep looking.
