I had the good fortune to stay at the Carlton when I traveled to Europe for my birthday. It is without a doubt one of the best hotels in Europe, if not the world. The staff was courteous and attentive beyond belief. My bed was turned down, the curtains drawn, fresh water by my bedside, etc., without having to ask. The staff is always there but never obtrusive or 'pushy'. I have stayed in similarly noteworthy hotels in Europe, eg. The Hassler in Rome, and have been unimpressed with the service. We stayed in a standard room but I never felt as if we were treated with any less respect than someone in a $5,000 suite. We did not utilize the private beach (I know, what were we thinking !) but we did make use of 'concierge' services and were impressed with how knowledgeable the staff is and how quick they were to find us exactly what we needed. All in all I will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Cannes for any reason.

great location very beautiful hotel private beach not included in the room price, costs EUR 30 per day per person (nothing there that justifies the price, better use the public beach 300 meters further away) cleaning service tries everything to be annoying - if you leave do not disturb sign they call you to ask when they can come, and when we didn't answer the calls they assumed we weren't there and came in to clean up anyway.
