Athenée

This hotel is now known as the Athenée. I stayed here during the advertising festival when it is almost impossible to find a reasonable room. It is situated just behind the Rue d'Antibes and is about 5 mins from the Croisette and the sea. The owner is very friendly and helpful and I got an excellent deal by booking on line. (less than 70 euros per night for a double room with single occupancy) The room was clean, a reasonable size, had air conditioning (a little bit noisy) and a very large bathroom. It certainly wasn't luxurious but it was comfortable and clean. My room was just above reception. so the wifi worked ok The owner is going to improve the wifi situation next season and hopefully it will work throughout the hotel. The Athenée is definitely worth considering; I have stayed in similar priced hotels during the festival and had much worse experiences.
