The staff of the hotel could not have been warmer or more friendly. My wife injured her foot in Paris prior to our arrival at the Hotel du Palais and the entire staff seemed to make it their mission to ensure her comfort and convenience during our stay. Jean-Louis, the Directeur General, and Jeanne, the Directrice, are the ultimate professionals.

Earlier in the afternoon, we had visited the outdoor bar and had a great time chatting with the bar tender and had a nice snack. He promised us a good table by the sea for dinner and it was delivered when we arrived later. After dinner, we visited the bar in the beautiful lobby next to the main restaurant. It's an elegant bar and, again, the bartender was friendly and fun to chat with. He suggested we try the Armagnac sampler, selecting two of his favorites from about 15 bottles from various producers and years on a shelf high above the bar. That was a bit over-the-top, but a nice ending to our brief stay in this exceptional hotel in one of Europe's most famous seaside resort towns.
