I had only amazing moment in this hotel with its huge parc and well decorated bedroom. The staff were very welcoming. Compare to the hotel I had seen in Biarritz, this is far the best value hotel.

Be carefull with the rooms. Not all of them are in the Chateau. Most of them are in a Pabillion 100 meters away, which is quite dissapointing. Specially the ones in the bottom floor. They are quite different to the ones in the Chateau. For instance, roms

Chateau Clair de Lune is a lovely house. I was somewhat disappointed that our room Vanille, large and beautifully furnished, was so dark; a more appropriate name would have been Vin Rouge or Raspberry! In winter (which it now is) when it gets dark so early the room with its deep wine walls (and faux marble walls and ceiling of the same colour in the huge and otherwise lovely bathroom)were dismal in the extreme; this was not helped by the fact that the lights were dim and not enough of them. The lighting was also poor in the public rooms. I do not like very bright lights and use table lamps to light my own home but I do like sufficient light to see and read! Otherwise it is a very charming little private hotel with a wonderful Michelin starred restaurant in the grounds (we ate there twice during our four day stay). I would also like to recommend the view over the golf course at Ilbarritz which must be one of the finest anywhere in the world and which was the reason for our visit in the first place. Nice place with a beautifull tidy garden, and nice people attending the business.

Chateau du claire de lune is a fabulous place to stay. We spent four nights there, it was so peacefull we relaxed completely, the surroundings were breath taking, the room beautifully decorated and the staff friendly. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet hotel from which to explore the area, a car is useful but taxi's could be used into Biarritz.

My only gripe was that I booked a room in the castle. My confirmation did not tell me I would be in the pavillion. I was very disapointed by this

Very good only if you are looking for total tranquility, otherwise you will need to travel for all your needs, meals, drinks etc. I requested a room in the Chateau and was given a room in the Lodge which is not attached to the Chateau.

Atractive rooms within a grand setting of period oppulence, surrounded by large landscaped grounds. Unfortunately though the Chateau & its interior was everything I had hoped for it lacked any atmoshere, and the facilities were very basic. Offering breakf
