This is charming small, clean and friendly hotel. I agree with other reviews that is more like a B&B, but it is fab value for money. Internet use is free. Curtains are light, but there are shutters, don't think last reviewer discovered them!!!

This hotel is fantastic as a base for a weekend or an overnight stay. The staff are nice, the rooms are spotless and the breakfast (for once) is a bargain when compared to the rest of the town. We were upgraded from a comfort room to the largest room they had for no charge which was a nice touch. Would have been happy regardless (I saw the other rooms). The room was massive with 3 large windows and a huge bathroom marble. The hotel is a great example of a chic little boutique in the heart of Biarritz, less than 10 mins walk to Grande plage and cafes. Top Tips: these rooms do not look like they have curtains or shutters until you realise that there is a black out blind hidden away! If you do not want breakfast you need to tell them each day otherwise they expect you to turn up (and you get charged).

Spent a few days here at the Alcyon. Decided on this hotel from the Venere website the rooms looked very nice, the size and location of the hotel looked right. On arriving we were greeted by a pleasent young lady. The room and bathroom was just has the website depicted and very clean. The decor throughout the hotel was a mix of individual style and original features. The size and location was perfect for us, close to the centre and beach. The only complaint was the room had only net curtains and the light from the hotel sign and shop opposite shone through all night. We enjoyed our stay here, and Biarritz is very nice

A terrific, modern chic hotel walking distance to the plage, the casino, and all attractions in downtown Biarritz. Affordable price, and ideal location. Great service!

We booked the hotel for two nights after finding it on the web. We read your reviews before booking which helped a lot. The hotel is a small family run establishment and the staff were friendly and helpful. The decor is very nice, the rooms as per the hotel website. The room was very clean and well presented. Breakfast was quite adequate and we had lovely freshly squeezed orange juice. Overall our stay was very good. The hotel is situated right in the centre of Biarritz and a short walk from many restuarants and the beach. The only small downside was a little traffic noise as we had the windows open overnight. We parked in the multi storey car parks close by which cost 11 euros a day.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Alcyon Hotel in July/August 2007. We were very happy with the hotel and would say that it's the no 1 choice for staying in Biarritz for 3 reasons. - The hotel/rooms are lovely, fresh and clean!! - The staff is very friendly and helpful. - The price is unbeatable! Excellent value. Usually I want to have breakfast outside of the hotel when I travel but I recommend that you have it here since the breakfast is much better/fuller than a regular French breakfast at a café would be.

A good small 3 star hotel. Booked through Venere. No cheaper booking directly with hotel. €95 per room plus tax but compared to other hotels in Biarritz the price was okay. Extremely convenient. Very close to resort front with bars, restaurants, food market and supermarket all within a short walking distance. Good for travel by bus with stops minutes away. We didn't have a car so not sure about parking in Biarritz. Reception very helpful. Breakfast was a typical petit dejeneur but a bit expensive at €9 per person. Plenty of options around Biarritz particularly the wonderful boulangeries and small cafes. A good place to stay in Biarritz.

My fiance and I stayed at the Alcyon Hotel in June 2007. We were very happy with the hotel. We would definately recommend the hotel. The hotel/rooms are lovely, fresh and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great price.

Spent a few days at the start of May at this hotel. Found the staff to be very friendly. The decor at the the hotel was in our opinion, modern & very chic. The bathroom and shower were spotless. The breakfast was adequate, as per continental standards. The location was excellent, as we were just a few minutes walk from the beach & restaurants. Loved the location. Hope to get another weekend break in the "Basque" region.

Nice little Hotel in a great location of Biarritz, very central to everything, bars, restaurants beaches .... Room small but nicely decorated. Curtains light and do not block out light. Reception staff extremely helpful and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Free internet and WIFI all over the Hotel. Would definitely come back.
