Lovely hotel for reasonable price You can pretty much walk everywhere in Prague. Do not get cabs, they are expensive and you get stuck in traffic while the meter is running.

Nice but a long walk up hill Hertgetova Cihelna , Just over the river you can see it on the rigth as you walk over the Charles Bridge from the Old town Square side, great setting overlooking the Charles Bridge, fine wines and good food and great service -

Avoid this hotel Be prepared to walk or get taxis as public transport around the hotel isn't that good. IP Pavlova station is about 10 minutes away and by the time you're there, you might as well walk another 5 minutes to the top of Wenceslas Square.

An excellent base for visiting Prague We took a boat trip (approx 45 mins) from the company operating just under the first arch of the Charles Bridge. The boats seat about twenty five people and a complementary drink is included. You don't go very far, but the guide (who semed to speak any language)was brilliant, and we learnt more about Prague on this trip than three days walking around reading from travel books.

Lovely modern hotel Fantastic meal (our anniversary) at Zahrada v Opere (The garden at the opera) which is close to the main museum at the end of wencesalas square. Chef has worked in michelin starred establishments across the world and there is a guest sushi chef currently. Brilliant 3 course meal with wine (and complementary amuse-bouche) for about £65 for 2 of us. Great value and one of the best meals I've eaten in a very long time.
