Great hotel in a central location Hotel Rott was a great hotel overall. I believe that they consider it a four star hotel in Prague. I would rank it between a three and four star hotel. The staff was very curteousy and helpful. The room itself was in clean and comfortable. The decor was a little simple but it was very nice. The location is one of the biggest advantages of the Hotel Rott. The hotel is about 300 feet from Prague’s old town square where there is plenty to see and do. And it’s not too far from the Charles Bridge and Prague Castel. This is my second trip to Prague and I would definitely stay at the Hotel Rott again. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks If you come by train or to Prague’s airport you can save quite a bit of money by taking public transportation. The metro system is rather clean and safe. A lot of taxi drivers in Prague are unscrupulous. If you do decide to use taxis, always avoid the taxi drivers who congregate at the train stations, they prey on unsuspecting tourists. Try walking a few blocks away to find a better deal.

Great Location Although you could here people in rooms adjacent to yours the hotel was in very good shape and a fantastic location. You were within walking distance to all the main sites. For an old building in Europe it is a very good hotel.

Location and Quality excellent The Rott Hotel was everything we wanted. A perfect location in the center of old Prague, a buffet breakfast and excellent service. The rooms were charming and comfortable. It helped to make our stay a truly memorable one. Traveler's tip on local attractions If you love classical music the one hour mini concerts in the churches and synagogues are a must. For about $10 a piece they make a wondeful interlude before or after dinner.

Excellent Location! The location couldn’t be beat. The Hotel Rott is right around the corner from Old Town Square and a short walk to the Charles Bridge. While it is close to the middle of the action, it was also a quiet and peaceful retreat. If you want old-world charm and character, this is a great spot. If you are more into large chain hotels, may not be good for you. The breakfast buffet in the a.m. is a great addition. The rooms were a bit snug (i.e. small), but very cozy. Traveler's tip on shopping Great shopping nearby---both small local shops and also larger luxury type retailers. Crystal, original artwork, clothing and jewelery shops abound.

Great Experience This was definitely an excellent value for the money. The location was excellent, as was quality, service, etc. The rooms/beds were a bit small for two people (we had a structural column right in the middle of ours), but the room amenities were well above average for comparable hotels, including a/c and a decent hairdryer which are both rarities in Europe. I would definitely stay here again. Traveler's tip on dining Most nearby dining is geared towards tourists and is way overpriced, even considering the bad dollar exchange. Stick to the side streets just a few meters away, where the food is better and half the price.
