convenient, would definitley go again shopping was ok, most of it suprosingly costs more than in london. even drinks cost the same or more, some place did cost less. nightlife especially this club with 5 floors, cannot rememeber the name, was very good. completely different to here, much more entertaining.

Good central hotel Overall I was quite happy with Hotel Halkova. It was clean, very central and the staff were very helpful and friendly - also, there was free internet in the lobby. The hotel is very basic, but the price reflects that. Our room was enormous - more like a suite and thus it seemed quite sparce - I found the ancient 14" portable TV stuck in the corner of the room quite comical for example. You didn't come to Prague to watch telly tho so who cares?! Overall, it's a good place to stay - and very close to all the tourist areas. Only thing I would say is that the route back to the hotel at night takes you directly past 3 or 4 strip bars and is quite dark and seedy, lot's of drunks etc. We even encountered a couple engaged in a sexual act on the way back one night. This is not the fault of the hotel tho and more of a refection on the way Prague as a city is heading. To sum up, good hotel, but you may encounter some er.... 'interesting' sights walking back at night.

Cheap and cheerful Very convenient quiet location handy for Wenceslas Square, tram stop IP Pavlova nearby. Outside, the hotel is so discrete as to be quite difficult to find - just a very small brass plate by the door. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast modest but adequate. It's claimed to have a bar but we didn't find it - however there is a pub across and a little convenience store a few doors away.

Highly recommended! No frills but clean and comfortable hotel in an excellent location. Don't be put off if you've heard bad things about pickpockets and tourists being ripped off (especially by cab drivers)- it seems that the government have regulated the cabs and cleaned things up a little. I felt completely safe and had no prblems in Prague.

Great central simple hotel some of the best restuarants ive been to with the most amazing views!! definitely go to 'Hotel U Prince' in Old town for cocktails, 'Cowboys' on the way up to Prague castle. we spotted many awesome restaurants and cocktail bars hidden on roof tops, when we were sightseeing from higher points like the clock tower and prague castle!

Price v Convenience Very helpful receptionist. Clean but small room. Not in the immediate tourist areas but within walking distance (20 mins. max. to Charles Bridge). Breakfast okay. Overall this hotel suited us for a short stay and appeared to be reasonable value for money.

Average hotel We actually got to the Halkova hotel and then were taken around the road to the Venezia Hotel, we were not told why this was but this is where we stayed. Our triple room was really a double room with a portable stretcher bed put into it. The breakfast was very good, with a good selection of continental foods. There was plenty of food available which was kept topped up. Staff were helpful. It was in a reasonable location although it did take awhile to walk to Charles Bridge.
