Excellent I stayed in the Clarion Old Town from June 2 to June 8, 2008. I was positively surprised, the hotel is excellently located - 5 minutes walk from the Old Town Square, 15 min walk from Charles Bridge, close to Tramway lines and Subway! The hotel, very clean, and the room very comfortable. Free Internet access. Staff very friendly - I had my return flight at 7 am, so I had to leave the hotel before 5h30. Although the restaurant opens only at 6h30 am for breakfast(included in the price), the staff at the reception kindly prepared a take-away breakfast for me and gave it to me while checking out! I will definitely stay there again and I strongly recommend it.

Location Location Location Even though the public transport is excellent, and CHEAP, walk everywhere and take in the tiny back streets where the locals frequent. Beautiful and quaint.

Great Location! Great Hotel ! I was very impressed with the price and the location. I was in walking distances to the very heart of Old Town. The tram is a quick walk from the hotel which is very important to me when I stay in a hotel in Prague. Public transportation is so easy in Prague and highly recommended. The breakfast buffet was large with a good selection. My view of the Vltava River was priceless! Traveler's tip The nearest tram stop to the hotel is Dlouha Trida. Take tram 5,8 or 14. Once you get off the tram you will not easily see the hotel, although it is very close. Once you get off the tram walk towards the direction of the river and then make a left on the first street, you then see the hotel. It’s best to then ask someone on the street where the hotel is. It sort of is hidden on the next street over, but you are close!

Very enjoyable visit Personally, I would NOT recommend Prague as a destination for children. There appeared to be very little to entertain children of any age, and I know my own teenagers would very quickly become bored after only one day sightseeing. The majority of visitors appeared to be over 60's or students. Our visit was mid-May and the weather was colder than UK and an umbrella would have been handy at times.

Not impressed! The location of the hotel was very good and the room was comfortable. However, the bathroom lacked basic amenities such as a hair dryer, shower cap, hand lotion. The hair dryer was only provided after stong demands since they did not seem to respond to polite requests. The staff at the front desk were not pleasent or particulary helpful. We requested tea bags in the room and they informed us that tea bags are only provided as a welcome drink for the first day! For a 4 Star Hotel, and the price charged, it was surprising that they would be so stingy with tea bags. Traveler's tip on local attractions Close by.

Well placed and quiet TIP - at the airport go to the desk as you come out and buy a 26KC (£1) ticket for the bus/metro. Get bus 100 to Zlicin, then the yellow metro to Namesti Republiky and the hotel is then a few minutes walk. Simple and far cheaper than taxis.

Over-rated Prague is a lovely city - and walkable. Trams are inexpensive but, in our case, not time-saving - with no tram maps available, we spent an hour trying to reach the castle (at the top of the hill) from the centre and found ourselves back where we started - it was quicker to walk!
